Unfortunately dd didn't manage to get any of her choices. so, apparently there's a second round of auditions and applications. This seems to be worse than S1 posting!
I hope at the end of the day she will be able to get a CCA she really wants! -

Hi,My dd is in Sec 1 express class, can someone help to recommend good assessment books for Geography and History.
TIA
Recommendation only:
History- GLM BY Margaret Tan
Geo. -Marshall Cavendish by Edward Nathan
-Wisemann Publishing by G.Scotts
However, pls take note that these books are meant for reference only.
Some of the topics/questions may not be aligned, more imptly, St Nicks teachers do not want the girls to rely on the 'answer key' provided by the model answers as they are mostly insufficient or at times inaccurate.
Esp for History Source Based Questions(SBQ), the assessment books questions asked and answers provided are not in details.
What's more impt is to listen in class, ask questions when in doubt.
Diligently complete the Geo n History worksheets.
If necessary, seek the teachers' consultation after school hours.
St Nicks' teachers will give worksheets to practice. These worksheets esp History questions are relevant to the exams. Make sure yr dd understands the way how the SBQ needs to be answered. -
