I have received the 15 page worksheet too- was given as hw yesterday to complete the last five pages. Ridiculous standards for p1.. The comphre was so difficult. If they continue to give such difficult work. I guess I gotta put a feedback to the teachers

you use 1 day to complete the hw? not bad.... when my ds brought home, he only completed 1st page, and we took Friday, sat and sun to complete it

She only need to complete the last 5 pages. The rest was done in class. Actually I was in a dilemma while guiding her on the comphre. She could not understand what is required and she asked for help.since I m helping her, this work does not reflect her true ability. If I won't help, she was so stressed that she could not hand in time.

        Hi lala81

Last few yrs, ft taught all 2 or 3 main subjects till p3/4. But this yr I heard, 1 teacher is only allowed to teach a max of 2 subjects. So you will need to see more teachers in this case. Last yr, I met 3 form teachers and 2 CL teachers. didn’t get a chance to talk to my youngest’s CL teacher. We were given a time slot to see the ft. but since yr ft is not taking any of the main subjects, I am really not sure how the school is going to do it. This yr, I hv 1 more teacher to meet bec maths is taught by another teacher. Luckily science and eng, only 1 teacher. For CL teachers, no appointment. All of them were in the hall last yr. The yr before, they were in the library. But the furious part is if you come across parents who ask many many que. Some teachers will tell the parent that time is up. some dare not. So ended up, last yr, I waited more than 30min bec 1 tai tai lookalike young Aunty talked and talked and talked forever eventhough I reached there on time (based on my slot). I called her young aunty bec she looked younger than me, called her tai tai bec she dressed up like a peacock and brought her maid along. then in the end, waited like 1 hr bec there were 2 or 3 more parents were in front of me.

            Hi Steadyberry

Oh yeah.. i can really relate to that.. I also find it's very difficult to meet the CL teacher as somehow, unfortunately, I will always meet someone in front of me that talk and talk and talk for so long.. really :stompfeet: And the teacher also dare not tell her off.. end up we need to wait for hours or miss it.. zzz

            Hi Lala81, Linekua
Somedays the homework are a lot, somedays there are none. So guess it's very normal in Woodgrove. Whenever if my ds do not know how to do his homework, normally I will guide him along & if he still write in the wrong answer, I will let him be, learn from mistake lor.. But if too many wrong answer, I will correct him lor.. really dilemma..

              ckhoo5,

I hope the hw load remains this way … not too heavy at the moment.

              Another qns :

Do they have to bring the CCE textbook everyday? It seems that they do not state specifically which day they have CCE lessons. Is it conducted during CL lesson?

                Hi lala81,

Hmm… not too sure abt the CCE because this is the New Syllabus for this year for P1 & P2. For P3 to P6, they will only have it next year 2015. Best to ask the Form teacher.

I have dropped an email to the Cl teacher , Ms Lim. Pleasantly surprised to receive her call shortly after. For Chinese class in 1C, Cce will be on Thursday and Friday. Hence on other days , no need to bring the book. She also made an extra effort to highlight my girl’s progress in class.

                      Hi ckhoo

Yalor, I might hv to run to 2 diff places for CL again. I rem last yr lower primary CL teachers in the hall & upp Pri CL teachers in another room. I think must go early to meet the CL teachers first then only I go for my slot.
