As we know that not all tutor know how to handle those spec kids and hardly to find a tuition centre that suitable for them. May I know what is the market rate for hire a spec tutor? Someone has quoted me $100 per hours which means that tuition fees for one subject easily come to $600-$700 per month. It is too expenses, is equv to someone take home pay. Will you paid this amount for kid’s tuition? Is there any recommend spec tutor at a cheaper rate or someone who know how to teach a spec kid. Tks

My son's tutor is very good. He is also teaching my friend's son who has ADHD. the boy seems calmer now and more focused. According to my frien, the school teacher says there is significant improvement. The boy seems more willing to work. If anyone wants the tutor's contact, email me at [email protected] and I will pass you his contact number. I personally find him very patient and thorough in his teaching methods.

Just something to share: My son was diagnosed with ASD last year. We had no prior family history(from both sides) with children or any1 with this disorder. Relatives who do not understand looked at him in a ver different way. Could not follow all the instructions in the Childcare Centre that he attend. I was really upset and did not know how to cope at time. He throw tantrums also. Doctor refer him for therapy sessions and he was eventually referred to EIPIC at THK this February. Condition did not improve drastically. Until 3 months back, my SIL’s friend recommended me to try out on Essential oil, and after 3 months , we (myself, SIL, BIL, and even my mum who is taking care of him) feels that his communication skills improve a lot. He is able to sit still for a longer period of time. This makes me certain that his condition can further improve if i persist.
I did come across some protocol recommended for children with ADHD. Any1 who is interested to try, can PM me. I can get my SIL to share more as she had been using the product for a longer period of time. Just to clarify, I am not earning anything. Its purely sharing. -
Hello mummies,
How do you discipline a ADHD kids?
Some ppl recommend canning? -
Is the child misbehaving out of defiance or outright disobedience? Those are the only reasons I feel that would justify caning as it presumes the child chose to misbehave and could have as easily chosen to behave. Even in those cases, I feel that other forms of discipline should be tried first and caning be kept as the very last resort when all else has failed.
For an ADHD child, much misbehaviour is due to their condition which makes it hard for them to behave in the desired way, and what discipline aims to achieve is to help the child gain control over his behaviour. I have found that the best way to discipline kids (ADHD or not) is to set small steps of good behaviour that they can achieve fairly easily, praise/reward them, and gradually extend the requirements. For eg., set a low target of sitting still and reading a book (or listening to a book read aloud) for 5 mins, then give some kind of reward (5 mins of play etc). After a few days, maybe stretch to 7 mins etc. You may have to monitor very closely initially, and the steps may be small and slow, but changing the child’s behaviour in this way is more long-lasting than by caning (which instills fear and can breed defiance). -

How old is he? The problem I see with caning is that he might end up thinking that violence can be used (by him) to control others too!! You know, they are kinda reckless and it's one thing which we should not promote.Hello mummies,
