I'm not sure but it should still be student rate. Has your son updated his ezlink card yet?
He is in NJC IP, dun think he was informed to update the card. -
Jennifer:
That could be the reason. My dd's IP school updated their ezlink card earlier this year, or was it late last year.jtoh:

You’re welcome, Jennifer.

My son did not extend his ezlink card during the extension period last year btw aug - oct 2013
I only saw the notice few weeks ago but the extension period over
U can go to any top up machine to extend the student concession now
His student concession will now end 31 Dec 2015 being JC student
Was told by Transit Link concession extension begin 5 Feb - 15 Feb
You can still do the extension so do it asap

I’VE JUST COMPLETED MY STUDIES. CAN I STILL USE THE CARD?
Congratulations on completing your studies! Not to worry, the School Smartcard can be used for a further 4 months upon completion of studies. The card can be further extended for students attending JC/CI/Pre-U.
For Primary School Smartcard, concession fare will be deducted during the 4 months and Secondary concession pass can be purchased.
For other School Smartcards, Adult fares will be deducted during the 4 months and concession passes cannot be purchased.
We would like to kindly advise all Secondary 1 students to return their old Primary School Smartcard to TransitLink once they have received their new Secondary School Smartcard. At any point of time during the 4 months grace period, you may request for an immediate refund (if any) at any TransitLink Ticket Office or Concession Card Replacement Office. But once the 4 month period is up, your card will expire and cannot be used or refunded immediately. You will then be issued a receipt and the refund can be collected after 5 working days from any TransitLink Ticket Office or Concession Card Replacement Office.
*Note: Students whose School Smartcards are linked to GIRO or Auto Credit Card will also need to present their cards at the Sales Machines or Counters (TransitLink Ticket Office/Concession Card Replacement Office, Add Value Machine Plus, General Ticketing Machine and Passenger Service Centre) -
Thank you zbear for starting this thread and jtoh for reviving it. Our children may be young adults now, but we are still kiasu parents and it is nice to be able to share issues or ask things we are unsure of here. Thank you.
As it is, i just now read about the transitlink concession pass. My ds too has been charged with adult farea and we thought maybe we'd wait and perhaps the school will advise them what to do. But if it can be extended at the atm machine, all the better. Will give it a try. Thank you CuteCuteMommy.
My ds chose MJ over possibly TJ (he got 7 net) because he does not want to be stressed he says. Does anyone know anything about MJ? I think it's an ok jc. I have no idea how jc life will be like nor am i very familiar with the points or how they calculate the exam results. As in everything else in my ds's school life, i learn as we go along. Which is why i appreciate this thread.

I'm reviving this thread for parents whose kids are in JC. Today's reporting day for the JAEs and the start of Orientation for the J1s. Let's share our experiences as our kids venture on another new education journey. In the meantime, my daughter's still fast asleep at home...
My ds was a little miserable on his 1st day. Most of his close friends were not with him and he felt alone amongst his new group of friends. He came home saying he missed his secondary school! But today, things seems better and he looks like he is trying to settle in. Hopefully he'll be happy and make many new friends. -
I think he’ll be fine after a few days, especially with all the orientation activities going on.

I hope not to be slammed but I am just sharing what I heard from various sources that MJ is much better than TJ although TJ has the IP prog.
I don't have the details but this is what is circulating around.
