All P1 & P5 have to take compulsory jabs & is usually around Feb-Mar. So Dd & Ds have to take the jabs this year! 😢

Dd school has also cancelled CA1 & CA2 this year. I don't think its a good idea coz kids, being kids, tend to slack when there's no formal assessment. Even we parents will slack. Without CA, we don't know our kids' progress so can only keep our :xedfingers: cross that our kids don't give us surprises during SA!

the kids will feel a little uncomfortable after the jab...so have your paracetamol on standby.

After the jab, my DD was complaining her arm is painful. Today is the 3rd day and looks like it’s getting better. Some of her classmates were down with slight fever.

My DD school does have common test in Mar. It is to gage how much they have understood the syllabus, but it is not taken into consideration. Only marks from SA1 and SA2 will be accepted.

while most dislike having CA and welcome having less stress without the CA, sometimes CA can be like indicators for students' grades...so i guess is always how we use it for...however for children who have always been consistent, CA is just a platform to gauge how well they do, how much they know or what else they don't know so that they can learn it and perform better next time. :rahrah:

Just realised that there is this thread about PSLE for children in 2015 : ) Glad to have found it as my gal will be taking PSLE next year.

Currently she is very weak in maths and her tutor has just resigned. I have found a replacement but decided to add in science tuition as well, since I do not see her revising/reading/touching her science books. Frankly, her school schedule is so packed during school week that often I am at a dilemma to divide her tuition on weekdays or weekends. I try my hard to keep both weekends free for my kids to play, refresh and rejuvenate. Being a ftwm, I find it very difficult to keep track of their school activities, homework and other stuff that they need to do. the good thing is I have my parents to assist so I am really grateful and blessed in this aspect.

Hoping I will not turn into a frantic and desperate mummy by the time PSLE hits.

Mine too finally over today. Now have to wait for results. I will take the results as a indication of how much she knows her work. Thereafter work on the weak area and get it sorted out before SA1 in May.

Waiting for results is the part I definitely dislike. I get all tensed when he comes home with the papers. Just hoping he can maintain last year’s performance - not that it was fantastic. But typically, results falter when moving from P4 to P5. That happened to my DD 2 years back.

My DS is extremely weak in Chinese. Poor memory so can’t read nor write well. I just bought some Chinese comics but suspect he’ll struggle to read them. What do other parents do to help with learning Chinese?
