Thank you thank you but generally what are the programmes in this school and the stress level of the students academically? I'm keen for my kids to be in KCPS because of it being a missionary school... other than that, i really dun know what to expect... die le next year in K2 and I'm not prepared!
good or no good is subjective.gksmummy:
hi there,
May i know if KCPS really gd? my ger will be in K2 next year and I'm thinking of volunteering to get in... any advise?
Thank you!
my friends' kids in ATS. Supposed to be the best / most popular school in bishan area. i always hear their grouses. -
Stress levels typically start maybe at P4. But P5 onwards, itโs really stressful for the top few classes. But from P1 to P3, it is still manageable.
When it comes to pri sch, Iโll look for distance as the main consideration. Cos from P3 onwards, the kids have enrichment / supplementary classes which requires them to stay back. Those taking bus TPT need to pay extra to be fetched back. Sometimes hv to arrange TPT back too.
english speech & drama is compulsory for all the students.
P1&P2 also have gym, chinese calligraphy, etc.
P3 onwards hv eng / chin creative writing / maths olymp
there are learning journeys, camps, etc. These are what i remember off hand.
if you are looking for spiritual enrichment, it being a missions sch, such lessons taught are quite general for obvious reasons. More on moral values / character. -

no problem. mine 1 has graduated, 1 still inside, 1 more to enter in 2012. So my youngest one same age as your kid?
there was balloting for those staying 1-2 km for the last couple of years. -
Dear KC parents,
just wondering when does CCA start for the lower primary ? at P2 ?
is it mandatory to have at least 1 CCA ?
can outside courses count ? e.g. Music : having passed the ABRSM grade exam certs to count for 1 unit ?
Thanks ! -

Starts at P3. I don't think ABRSM certs count. Maybe if you are talking about the child representing the country for music competitions or playing in the SYO or similar levels, then maybe ... maybe can be taken into consideration.Dear KC parents,

Yes, Peichun is a more popular choice for parents. In any case, if you would like to go for KCPPS, you'll have no problem getting your child in if you are a PV.
Your child is in K1 now right, so you'll be registering for her next June. Better act quickly if you want to be a PV. There's not much work for PVs in KCPPS, so better start early to clock in the PV hours.
Cheers. -
Hello Tulip,
Wah like that i lagi stress... hahaha.... i already sent in my PV letter lei but so far heard nothing....
are your kids in KCPPS as well?
