      Maths Tutor Mr. Lim:

      Dream School : Nan Chiau High School 2014 COP 242, 4 yr express only

      case 1
      P5 CA1 results, don't use p4 SA2 result
      eng 60
      chinese 60
      science 60
      maths 60

      rough estimate (+-10) t-score -> 0.75 (60 + 60 + 60 + 60) = t-score 180

      242 - 180 = 62 need to work very hard; like mission impossible; don’t dream
      May I ask what is 0.75? How did you get this factor ?

        From my understanding. To get A*, the raw score must be 90 & above. So as long as a pupil get 90 & above, he/she will get A*. But whether A* able to get high t-score. It is depend on whether how the overall cohort score. Eg. if the paper is extremely easy, average pupil / cohort get a raw score of 80 marks. It is also mean 80 marks = 50 for t-score. Hence t-score will be pull down.
        A* is not inclusive of 90!

        A* is 91 AND ABOVE. πŸ˜„

                        FYI, A* for 2013's PSLE Math paper was 97. Reason being many students scored 100 for Math due to super easy paper. This is what my dd's school teacher told the class. When a paper is well done by many students, A* will be tagged beyond 91. If the exam paper is difficult and the top score is not really high, A* can easily fall below 91, thus an 87 mark can also be an A*.
