I see most responses here are male-dominated. I think such \"thrilling\" games are more appealing to the men than women but I am generalising here of course.

If you have seen the LA's casinos, I suppose you would have seen almost all in the world, that is from a woman's perspective la.. me, that is. 😉

My fren went there on the first day with several family members. He decides that he shall not go there more than once a month so that he will not spend more than the annual 2k levy. I shall follow up with him to see if he ends up visiting the casino more than once a month. 😄

I don't gamble, so I won't go to the casino at all. In fact I don't know how to gamble, and I will discourage others from gambling.

Has anyone gone to the RWS? We went today to look look see see. For a moment, we felt as though we are not in Singapore. I personally think that they did a good job. It’s also good that they’ve alot of sheltered places particularly in our hot Singapore. My mum and I were like… we must come and stay for a night to try out the hotel.

I hope that they will continue to do well as I am vested in Genting Spore shares and believe there is long term potential. We observed alot of Malaysians. Also alot of Singaporeans turn up too. Saw on the paper 3000+ paid $100 levy while 122 paid $2k for annual pass. I am no gambler but mathematically, I think it makes sense to pay $2k per annum and there is no limit for entrance.

I am quite excited about RWS and see how is the response like after CNY hols. On the other hand, it’s also worrying to imagine that those crowds are made up by china workers on their CNY off days…

I see no sense paying that $100 to get into the casino. It's like losing $100 even before stepping into it.

I might as well make it a family vacation to Genting. 😛

This is like putting up a show that sg gov is doing something to discourage pink ic (probably blue ic, i think) holders to go in.

My mother enjoys playing the slot machines and I have brought her to the casinos at Genting and Superstar Virgo once every year. I have also brought her to the Macau Venetian Resort, the casino is beautiful and huge, I don't think the RWS casino can be better than that. The RWS entry fee of $100 is about the same as spending 1 to 2 nights at Genting, and cheaper than the cruise and Macau, so I think Singaporeans who likes to gamble will still like to go to RWS.

Anyway I think what is most important is how much the casino is willing to let people win at the slot machines 😉 It was very difficult to win big at the Macau Venetian Resort so it was quite empty. I think it is easier to win at Genting, especially because they have 1 cent machines, so their casinos are always packed.

BTW, at the Genting and cruise ship casinos, I see many aunties age 50 and above spending many hours at the slot machines. I have been to the Las Vegas casinos before, also saw many American aunties spending a lot of time at the slot machines.
