      ks2me:

I must be quite blur when I was a student....
I only got to know about LV after I went over 30s? late bloomer la...
So if anyone had shown me an LV bag, it would have been wasted...cos no  leh..
Errrr, maybe your time was when Esprit or New Balance were the 'in' thing???? *speculating lah* πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜„
      Serafiel:
I really like SCGS, but didn't get to go because it's too far.
The people there are really nice. Compared to MGS (it's true that they are really rich, and tend to be snobby. A tuition mate in MGS boasted that she had an LV bag, they said \"so?\" And now she's not popular).
Most of my friends are from SCGS, they are gentle, ladylike, and intelligent. They also won't bully you even if you're fat, like my friends told me. Everyone from there missed their schools, and they do really well at o levels.
I do have good frds who studied there and I have taught some gals from SCGS too. No doubt many may come from a well-to-do backgrd, but the impression that I have of SCGS and MGS girls from then till now is that they have good bearing, are intelligent and not at all arrogant. Its the way that they carry themselves (as in mannerisms, posture, verbally etc.., not in terms of bragging about themselves, lest I'm misunderstood πŸ˜‰) that really make them stand out from the crowd. In fact, these frds, with the exception of 2 of them, come from extremely wealthy family backgrd, but they are v v humble and work hard at their jobs.

      JMHO πŸ˜„

p.s: I am not from either of the above schools πŸ˜„

Now that you mentioned...hmm...maybe Nike? Sec school cannot wear such shoes but once in \"A' level, quickly rushed out to get a pair.

Esprit..and New Balance also dunno their value leh......I must be really so blur... I really dunno what was considered premium during my era...but I think I knew Rolex was some big deal....cos many Ah Peks with gold teeth would wear one...

          cyberpie:
Thanks for all the info about fees and $$ issues.

Actually, i am concerned if there is elitism in indept schs like scgs.

My daughter is the type susceptible to peer influence ... so if her friends have seen that movie, she would want to see ... if her friends have gone to Disneyland, she would probably ask why we don't take her there ...

I am not saying other schs will be free from such problems but perhaps if i put her in a neighbourhood sch, such issues may be less?

I may be wrong and things may have changed ... but just putting my thoughts down here ... are my worries are justified? Like any other parent I want my daughter to be happy, but if I have to constantly battle such issues with her (which I am already doing now to some extent), then i really need to reconsider.
so cyberpie, have you made up your mind ?

          Good luck ...

I have not … to be honest. I guess I have a few more months to consider - including distance and after school care. Being a working mum with no maid or parents or PIL, i need to know who can look after and supervise my DD when she is not in school. Thanks for asking!

They seriously employed the right person to do it. You have constantly ended with the slogan \"It is a good school。\" In marketing, we call this consistency and managing a good sound bite. Thanks for promoting the school! I agree. GRRRRRRRRRREAT school! :celebrate:
