Hello! I'm a Sec 4 girl from an IP school and I want to get into ACSI by DSA, and I would like to find out if the school determines if get accepted mostly based on your GPA for year 4 or mostly the results of your entrance exams? 😄

      Thank you!

Technically, IP schools should not be taking in students from other IP schools, because all IP schools are supposed to have their own 5th-6th year routes. However, in the hypothetical case (well, practically as well), it depends on academic results as well as your entire life story (in short).

ACSI is an IB school not an IP school. And while my school does have it's Year 5 and 6, I prefer the IB route. (there were many people from my school who transferred to HCI and VJ as well) But entire life story....???? ._________.

ACSI has both the 6 years IP leading to IB and also the 4 years O level prog.

Entire life story in short means all your notable achievements to date.
From another IP school to ACSI, you’ll probably need to DSA cos you can’t enter via JAE using O level results. I understand that DSA is not just based on academic achievements only.

          An article from the dailymail

The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (Ucas) has developed a new tariff system which gives the International Baccalaureate an A-level equivalence for the first time.

An IB score of 38 points out of a maximum of 45 is deemed to be equivalent to a staggering five A grades at A-level.

Oxford and Cambridge typically ask for 40 points which equates to five-and-half A grades.

A relatively modest IB score of 35 points is worth four-and-a-half A grades at A-level.

Even 30 IB points reflects three-and-a-half As at A-level which is enough to secure entry to most academically selective universities.
Thanks for sharing, good to know this info.

Hi, I’m also a Sec 4 girl from an IP school and I would like to transfer to ACSI for the Y5 IBDP. Does anyone know if I will be rejected based on having DSAed to my secondary school (already "bound" to my current school for 6 years?) and if I’m still eligible, would I be applying via DSA?

Technically, no transfer possible. However, if you leave your existing school and then attempt to enter a new school, they might accept you.

Heh, yes. Not too busy for ACS matters (ACJC, Barker, Indep or Int'l) but it has been a hectic time. More changes on the education roadmap ahead… 🙂
