You can check with your chairman or CDpirahna:
Dear all, an Important circular was issued by CED on 11 APR 14 regarding changes to P1 registration priority schemes for GRLs.
There are two important changes:
1) Min service requirement will be increased from 1yr to 2years (period served as observer do not count)
2) GRLs/District Councillors are only eligble for schools in the GRC or SMC they reside;
i.e. e.g. if you stay in Tampines GRC, but you serve in our CCMC, the priority scheme will only allow u to qualify for schools in Tampines GRC.
The changes will take effect starting from the 2016 P1 registration exercise for admission to P1 2017.
Members who wish to be eligible for the 2016 P1 registration must be appointed by latest 30 June 14 to qualify for min 2 years service criterion.
Hi May I know where to find this letter pertaining to the amended changes? Thanks -
Application for the P2B letter has started.

Hi
I just got appointment as GRL. I need your advice. ..what are the criteria or stuffs that I should finish / perform to be eligible for the letter under GRL route to phase 2B?
I do attend all the meetings, volunteer for sone of the events.
Is there an advantage /edge in seeking for the letter as a executive member from any CC committee rather than a member of nearby RC?
Can a person volunteer in another GRC (We're residing at a different GRC)? We're not interested to move in there...
Thanks for your time & advice.
You can also pm me... :rahrah: :thankyou: -
If we cannot apply to a school which is not in the GRC we are appointed as GRL, can we at the time of registration ( for P1)get a new address near to intended school ( in another GRC) and apply to transfer to the RC?

Yes. The years in service can carry over. But whether can join or not is providing the other RC is not full. -
Hi all I need urgent advise…I’ve been executive member for 11mths…my appeal for the letter is being rejected…may I know is there any method to appeal again? Since my service is only short of a month…can’t they consider based on my active contribution as well as my effort n grant me the letter? I will definitely work harder moving forward.

Write to your MP direct, who is your last hope. If he/she knows you personally through the many grassroots events, that's even better. Their emails can be easily obtained @ http://www.parliament.gov.sg/list-of-current-mps. Cheers! -

You will hv to be appointed as Executive Member (EM) before 30 June 2014 to qualify for the 1 yr criteria for 2015 registration. One has to be an observer first before your chairman recommend you to be an EM provided there are quota in the RC you are in. It's really a chore if one does not have the passion to serve the residents. Be prepared for long hours in meetings, events such as CNY, National day, moon cake festival, Deepavali, Halloween, Christmas, NYe countdown, block visit, welcome parties and many more.
Alternatively, u can try balloting at phase 2C for mee toh.
