      esoterice:
My worry is to the left side.. there's a gap blocked by plants. .but children can Def squeeze thru. And beyond that is the flight of stairs. . Which is dangerous.. And to the right side.. not blocked off.. is the carpark... which is also dangerous.. If the child wander off the premise. .

      Hi esoterice,

I know what you mean, I also noticed these things when I went there.
Please make sure your kid is not the type to wander off by himself/herself or those very active type anyhow run around. Because the danger is very real!

I see the other PreN kids in same class, most of them can sit down kuai kuai, listen to teacher and follow routine nicely. My younger kid not ready for it as he is very active and runs around. Perhaps when he gets older than I will consider putting him there.

      All the best!

Yes! And the backdoor, is not really secure too… If anyone did not close it properly, it tends to open up easily just by a push. When I was there, I tried to close the back door and not easy to close too.

I thought since its a rather new premise, they should have thought of all these security issue loh.

i need transport for next year. Thinking to register my child for year 2015, staying near Hougang St 91. the transports fees are unreasonable around $160- 2 ways. i checked with other parents whose schools are even further and they charge around $110 -2 ways. One way was told the rate was about $110. Anyone can advise any other operators? Also, how are the teachers here? Any feedback pls about school/ teachers? thanks!

                Hello fellow parents,

I’m considering to switch my daughter over from a full day child care center to AMKMC kindergarten for k1 next year. However, i am hoping to find out more of the curriculum and if the school is experienced/ equipped to prepare the kids for primary school.

Are there any parents out there who can share your children’ s learning process and if you are satisfied with the class?

I just visited the school actually and had a talk with the principal too. She’s a nice soft spoken lady, very different from my girl’ s current cc principal who is very energetic and assertive.

A principal usually sets culture and I’m quite interested to know of any feedback on the teachers there as well. Thanks everyone for any input!

Just attended AMKMC Kindergarten orientation last Saturday.

1 word to describe, they are still that usual messy.
Upon arrival at main entrance, no proper signage of "queue here" was seen.
Only see a few parents spreading out here and there infront a the first table.
Upon reaching that table, we asked for registration, given a number and asked to move into the main hall for briefing by the principal.
After briefing, went to next room to try out the uniform, which was lacking in samples to try and again, no proper queue system or any coordinator to say, queue here, etc.
Chosen the uniform, move to payment with 2 tables and we just queued behind a couple making their payment. When they were done, we sat down and pass the payment slip to the person and was told we were supposed to placed onto a tray on the table. Again, no proper signage or queue system or anyone guiding.
Kind of messy and I believed they lack of experience.

Went to view the playground again, and seems to be on renovation again. Strange but then again, not sure why for so long.

Well, am first time parent, first time experience with this Kindergarten and all seems not so good so far.
But I hope their teaching and upbringing as well as its classes will be good.
Payment was more than $1,600 p/semester for Pre-Nursery class.
Not far away from the norm in the market.

I hope the school can upgrade its customer service skills more, and most importantly, wholistic approach to the young kiddies education and learning will be good.

Any other parents that are sending them to this kindergarten next year?

                    Hi,

My child is attending AMK church kindergarten. He is taking 2 way tpt at $110. But he is late for school everyday as the pick-up is at 7:53am every morning and he is not the last to be pick up. Even though the school supposed to end at 12noon, the school bus dropped him off at 11:56 everyday, so he is home at 12noon! During registration, the principal explained that the fees is more expensive as it is a 4 hours program, but I seriously doubt so. If he is already home at 12noon, do you call that a 4 hours programme?

My other children attended a church kindergarten at SengKang. The morning assembly starts on time at 8am and those taking school bus reach school at 7.45am. And I pick up my children from school at 11am, nothing earlier, unlike AMK kindergarten. So it was quite a shock to me that my son who takes the school bus is late for school at AMK kindergarten every day. I had fedback to the principal and she said she will speak to the school bus operator. Personally, I think the principal is nice but too soft to be able to get things done.

Everyone wears PE on Tuesday, there is no staggering. On days other than Tuesday, he will come back sweaty in his school uniform as teachers bring them to playground. It seems that PE lessons is based on the teachers’ mood. The school is not organized, messy.

Curriculum wise, my child attends chinese and english tuition and I think he learnt more from his tuition class.

I can truly empathise what pigletz is going through.

Indeed, the school needs alot of improvements and perhaps, there isn’t much checks and balance as well as proper training given.
Principal is a very nice lady, indeed, soft but approachable. Need to be firmer and put in place some good processes.
I also agree the Mandarin teaching isn’t good and read the story books being too deeply rooted with cheem words. Perhaps the chinese teaching needs to adapt that there are families not communicating in mandarin much, and can device something more appropriately.

However, despite all these, I still feel it is a good school and learning while growing up is most important for kids. Just hope they can become better with their processes and my friends from MOE also indicating that they are auditing them lately, wanting to know if they are improving. Seems not so as yet. Just hearsay.

                        Hello!

This thread has been quite "dead" for a while.

I’m considering this kindergarten because it is very established in the area. Heard from friends that the principal has changed, so I was wondering if anyone has updates/reviews to share that is more recent.

                        Thanks!
