Being truly Kiasu I wrote to teachers-in-charge excusing dd #1 fm CCA & Buddhist studies that will set her back till 4.30pm tomorrow :salute:
By the way, anyone's child in Chinese Club? Any comments -
I was informed by the form teacher that any formal writing fm the parent is able to pardon the child fm MBSactivities.
As dd #2 (P1) requires chinese extra lessons, I've decided to enroll her in Chinese Club which I've just received a call fm Lee Lao Shi to meet at 10.30am@ gazebo tomorrow. Thus hv no idea wat they will be doing between 10.30 - 12noon
Sure hope it will interest her in Chinese
-

We have a form teacher who appear on 1st day of school and then she is on sick leave after that. BTW, it is for P3 and after which, they kept having a change of relief teachers. To make matter worst, the same teacher will teach 3 main subjects. The class is behind schedule and they have CA this time round. It was around few weeks back, they got in someone very experienced \"permanently\" to teach the class. Alot of parents voice their concerns during meet the teachers session.Hi.
any mummies have encounter child's form teacher take leave frequently?
the form teacher in my child's class absent herself for 5 days in feb. what should i do? was afraid that it will affect child's work.
I can perfectly understand teachers getting pregnant or having to go on medical leave due to complications. However, I felt that the school should exercise more caution in placing such teachers. Eg. putting them as relief teacher if they are due for delivery soon or belong to higher risk group?
Another child's teacher appeared to be pregnant so I suppose she will be going on leave in few month's time. We were like... maybe it's a matter of luck.. -

My child is in P1 and I’m very troubled as the form teacher is always absent. Even when she’s in school, I don’t rec any update from her pertaining to school activities.
I know of another P1 teacher who updates her blog at least three times a week to inform parents of what’s going in class, the worksheet the children are required to complete at home etc. She even took pictures of the activities in class and post them on her blog.
It is just my luck… -
my dd's class blog;

Actually, not every teacher maintains a blog. Eg. my kids' teachers this year do not do so. Historically, my P3 only had a CL teacher who maintains a blog which I found it very useful. My child is in P1 and I'm very troubled as the form teacher is always absent. With or without a blog, the teacher would usually be available if we need to check on something. Eg. we do it via sms or email.
On the bright side, your child is only P1 so the risk level is lower as compared to say a P6 doing PSLE,etc... so at this point, the work should still be fairly easy. -
Hi Etweel,
Don’t worry too much. Your kid just started P1. Let her enjoy school. I agree with MMM that P1 is fairly easy.
So far are there any worsheets done in class that your child has bought home? Through the worksheets, you roughly know how your child is doing in school. -
Hi MMM.
my child is in P1, still very fresh. the kids in the class already form opinion that form teacher always \"not here today\" kind of opinion. thereafter they will bring back some homework which is usually not the case if teacher come daily, even the weekly spelling is affected. Teacher in charge of practically all major subjects and PE as well.
Was told that sometimes \"stand in\" teachers dont even get the kids to do anything in class.
Do you think we should raise the issue? Or who can we approach?
thanks.MMM:
