      SoBlessed:
Hi. Joined KSP yesterday. As green as can be.

Son in P6 and our choice of secondary school is ACS(I). Listened to Mr Hodge's address at their open house this year, in which he said something quite puzzling. He firmly declared that COP for IP has been and will be 253. Was he mistaken? Isn't COP derived as the lowest T-score of the S1 posting students admitted? He also said that total IP places for S1 posting is 80. How can both the COP and the no. of places be fixed at the same time?

Can anyone else who heard the same address confirm that I wasn't hard of hearing and that I heard correctly? And if so, can someone shed some light on the puzzle? :?

      Thanks so much.
      SoBlessed,

Mr Hodge must have referred to COP of PSLE year 2013 - it is 253 for IP.

The relatively stress free mid year exams are ongoing, heard from my ds that today, his yr 1 History paper was most enjoyable :imcool:

Thanks spicyblackpepper. Yup, am aware that last IP COP was 253. If you’re right, then it was probably a misunderstanding on my part.

Thanks autolycus. So, you’re saying that they proabably set an internal IP COP, then take in top 80 first-choice "applicants" for IP, all of whom should have scored 253 or higher anyway?

I am glad that we can leave PSLE aggregate baggage far behind us now that we are in the school family.

These 80 refer to those who DSA, right? There are more who entered via S1 posting.

                  spicyblackpepper,

Not sure if your hint was intentional. If it was, got it. This thread is more for parents who are already in the ACS(I) family. Why would any of you have attended the open house, right? Apologies.

Oh this thread is for everybody. I gained a lot from this thread before DS went to acsi. Autolycus and Breezy were most helpful here.

No hint meant. Agree with Zeemimi that this thread is very helpful to all of us.

                        Yay, then I’m back.

I’ve actually done a brief pros-and-cons comparison of RI, NUSHS and ACS(I). ACS(I) wins hands-down! Best part is, my son agrees. And this entire thread from page 1 gives me the feel-good confidence that we’ve made the right choice.

Now, we can only pray for God’s grace and favour on my son’s DSA IP application and PSLE performance.

If successful, then I lagi at home in this thread.
