I have a bit of trouble understanding about schools that charge an additional amount for printing of worksheets. This is apart from the misc. fees. Even at 4cents a paper, the amt of worksheets would be astounding per pupil.

Is this something that is common in your kids’ school as well?

I think there was a year we were asked to co-pay for printing of worksheets. Not a big of money. The sch is a Govt-aided sch.

For last yr and this yr (sec 3 & 4), we have to pay photocopying of notes charges of $50 per year ($5 x 10mths). Can't recall for prior 2 yrs.

          Ours is a govt sch.

How much is yr sch charging?

Many Secondary schools use their own supplementary notes along with textbooks. So the cost is really to be expected. In the past, as students, we have to photocopy notes at our own cost.

It is common to pay for such printing cost. For $10 per term, it translates to 250 sheets based on 4 cents per copy. Divided by 10 weeks is 25 sheets per week. Divided by 3 subjects at P1 is 8 sheets per subject per week. I am sure the school prints more than that quantity so $10 per term is likely to be co-payment.

Am sure the schools are acting in good faith when requesting for co-payment and will not charge excessively. I will rather pay than for the school to not charge because they are not providing the notes.
