      Sniper Angel:
Both Radin Mas & River Valley are popular primary schools in Bukit Merah area for almost a few decades. I would said RVPS the chinese standard seem higher mainly in the past they were a chinese primary school.

      Thank you, Sniper Angel.

Phase 1 registration at Alexandra Primary School has began today.

Last year, we were at P2C - > 2 km.

This year other than Phase 1 intake, there will not be P2B (PV) intake at all, maybe for grassroots leaders. The remaining will be for P2C.

There is an likelihood that P2C > 2km shall required balloting.

          patlsy79:

hehe my kid is currently in AP, no regret to choose this sch so far..previously was still thinking should I choose this new sch... we were very impressed with both P & VP since day 1..anyway it's just my own opinion.. šŸ™‚

Hi Patlsy79, care to share how impressive in your opinions? What did they do, or in which way you feel pleased?

Thanks in advance for sharing with us!

          Hi xlan,

ALPS though new has impressed a lot of parents in a lot of ways.

The teachers are all very experienced with over 10 years of teaching experience. Some of the teachers we know are from good schools such as RVPS, Maha Bohdi & Qifa.

As there is only P1 level in the school, the children are being given a lot of attention. The little ones are being given more opportunity to learn & be independent. During orientation, students from GES Sec Sch came over to help them during recess, and from Day 4 onwards, they are on their own. They are given opportunities to perform during assembly e.g., wushu performance during CNY.

As there are no CCA, all the P1 children are participating in the PAL (Program for Active Learning) - They learn hip hop, swimming & canvas art together.

They have their first excursion last week & will be heading for one more next week.

The children are given bite-sized assessments in school - e.g. show & tell, poetry recitation, little designer journal (with lego blocks)
E-learning is also made available for the students recently.
End of the term, we will be having our 3rd meet the teachers session.

If you prefer a more holistic learning environment focusing on visual & performing arts, you may consider ALPS.

Meanwhile, can't find anything \"bad\" about the school & the team yet. šŸ™‚
          * School bus fee is expensive according to some parents - the furthest we know - Jurong West *

Hope the information is useful to you.
ALPS has 2 FB pages - might be able to view some pics there. šŸ™‚

It's indeed far šŸ™‚ I think it's cos the grandparents stay around Bukit Merah. šŸ™‚

Have a feel of the school in the morning during assembly if you are interested.
They are pretty strict yo! Stand along Alexandra Road near the bus stop & you will be able to view their assembly in their sheltered parade square šŸ™‚

Btw, there is an open house at ALPS on 31 May 2014 from 9am to 2pm I think. ALPS Principal - Mrs Lim - has been invited to give a talk at Zhangde Pri (registration full due to overwhelming response). Heard that some of the students might be involved in the open house too. šŸ™‚

                        https://www.facebook.com/pages/Alexandr ... ?ref=br_rs

This is a different alexandra primary, it sits on the same piece of land, but already demolished decades ago.

and the most famous student is non other than our prime minister wife, Ho Ching. Because both primary schools share the same piece of land and both have the name Alexandra, the students of the former school Alexandra estate primary school actually wanted to claim alumnus to this new school.
