Horizon Primary

Last yr there was balloting for parents staying within 1km. Parents were called if they stay beyond 1km to consider to apply other schools.
Open house is usually in mid july. Cost of student care per mth is $270.
Hi Mummyofthree, does it means that if i stay less than 1km then my chances will be higher? God bless me better got a place for my kiddo if not will be big headache. Oh gotta to keep a lookout for the open house in July. Thanks a lot for your advise on the student care fee.
Hi mummy...
yes I would say so... but do lookout at the results of every phase. The school intake had dropped 30 vacancies for last year. When I first signed up for Horizon, there were 330 vacancies in yr 2011 but last year down to 270 or 300 (sorry can't remember), as there were 2 new primary sch setup.
website for the sch: http://www.horizonpri.moe.edu.sg/
You may want to check their website on & off for the open house.
Hi Mummy, really thanks a lot for your advise. Hopefully the school intake will not drop further. If not i'm really gonna have a big headache.. Have seen MT gonna to have a open house but Horizon up to date still no update..haiz.. being a mum so tiring even kids gonna to P1..OMG -
Hi all parents
Horizon open house will be on 19 jul as per my gal’s advice -
Horizon Primary School’s bus provider (BT&Tan Bus Transport Service) sucks! They are not flexible at all. In the 1st half of the year, I got them for transport services for 2 way (fetch from home to school & from school to home). However, the 2nd half of the year, I decided to put my daughter into Student Care and yet they can’t accede to my request. The operator are very arrogant, especially May Tan. Yet this operator, only they are allowed to implement changes as and when they like but they don’t accede to customer’s request at all. Anyone knows any other private bus transport company instead of getting them?

Hi mummy
did you flag this unpleasant experience to the school? maybe the sch will change the transport vendor since the school can change their bookshop & uniform vendor. -

By the way, wanna to seek advise is the P1 studying very stressful? Heard from my colleagues's kids school are all very stressful & tons of homework etc... Makes me so worried my kid cannot make it. -
It depends on FT. But usually no HM on Mon and Wed since it is a long day.
My son is in P2 and more HW as compare to P1. -
hi mummies
in case you need to find out the no. of vacancies left for each phase for p1 2014 reg, please refer to the below link. Bad news, Horizon's take in for 2015 P1 has dropped from 270 (last yr intake) to 240 (this yr intake), with 40 being reserved for Phase 2B & phase 2C.
http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissi ... vacancies/
Quoted from MOE website:
Starting from the 2014 Primary One (P1) Registration Exercise, the Ministry of Education (MOE) will reserve 40 places in every primary school for registrants in Phase 2B and 2C to ensure continued open access to all primary schools. The 40 places will be reserved for Phase 2B and 2C (20 places for each phase) before the start of the P1 Registration Exercise.
