Hi, I don’t think the shower facilities are necessary. Many school based student care centres do not have shower facilities. At the orientation, the provider did mention that this school based centre will not have shower facilities. It really isnt necessary. What I would suggest is that you pack a hand towel in your child’s bag and ask your child to use it to wash her face in the toilets. That’s what the provider has suggested.
The room is not that stuffy, the fans are switched on and its quite cool inside and is similiar situation to the school classrooms.
I am sorry that this may not be the answer you are looking for, but please understand that the school based student care is different from an outside centre. It is catered for the students studying at the school and the facilities are already fixed.

tare1919:
Dear Tare1919,Can I feedback about the student care. Can the aircon be installed soonest?
Think due to the renovation works all the windows and doors are closed, except for 1 opening door. The kids will be resting and playing in the stuffy room...
Moreover the weather is so hot n humid now.
Will there be any shower facilites upcoming for the center as well?
We’ve just checked with ProTeach on the following:
The Student Care is equipped with fans and it has been decided by the operator that air cons will not be installed.
The Student Care has indicated in its handbbook, as well as during the enrolment briefing, that there will be no showering facilities.
-
I understand during the enrolment briefing they might be installing in few month later, since now it have been confirmed…will take note of this.
Think the student care teacher did feedback its kind of stuffy in the room too…maybe the children can also feedback on this?
Can’t imagine to stay in room with only a door being open, think the staffs room is also air conditioned to provide the staffs a comfortable area.
As for the shower facilities should be ok for normal days but esp aft the PE days or Wushu enrichment…Is this enrichment conducted in an aircon or non aircon condition area?
Agreed the school hall indeed was well ventilated…
It is not meant to compared…school have their own regulation…The reason prefer school’s students care is for child convi, lesser travelling…and of course for Pro teach well known curriculum.
But since all have been confirmed and agreed think nothing more to be mentioned. -
Hi West Spring Pri School
We are interested and had great intention to register our girl for P1/2015 but under phase 2C. What are the chances of having a place within 2km?
Also regarding the student care, is the vacancies base on First come first serve ? Is vacancies being reviewed and increased on yearly basis ? -

:thankyou: for your great interest in West Spring Primary. :rahrah:
P1 registration vacancies vary from year to year. Please do refer to MOE website on P1 registration exercise 2014 in due course.
Student care admission is based on the selection criteria and needs basis. The number of vacancies available is dependent on the physical and human resource available each year and may as such be reviewed on a regular basis.
We look foward to welcoming you and your child to our wonderful West Spring family next year. :grphug: :rahrah: :rahrah: :rahrah:

Dear West Spring Primary

Cheers : ) -
Dear potential parents,
1. With reference to MOE website on P1 registration exercise 2014, we wish to share that West Spring has increased the number of P1 classes next year to 8 classes (compared to 7 classes in P1 registration exercise 2013).
2. Any parent who has missed our Open House may email our school at [email protected], or call Mdm Noor at 6314 4192, from next Monday onwards to receive an updated list of FAQs arising from queries from parents who'd attended Open House 2014. This list of FAQs is over and above those currently found on our school website.
3. You are encouraged to visit our school website to glean more information about our school, as well as take a look at our eNewsletter, flickr photos on PLAY (Purposeful Learning Activities for the Young) and regular letters sent out to parents from the Principal.
Doing so will give you a good idea of the varied and interesting programmes we have for your child at West Spring Primary.
4. Our revamped school website is currently in the works and should be going live some time next month.
We look forward to you and your child joining our West Spring Primary family next year.

Hi WSPS,
I had submitted all the documents for 2014 P1 registration for my younger child through my elder daughter before the school holiday to her teacher.
Just to check that do I still have to go down WSPS on 3rd/4th July personally for the Primary One Registration Phase?
*TIA -

Thank you for submitting the documents. However, I would greatly appreciate if you could call me, Mdm Noor at 6314 4192 to provide your child's name for confirmation.
As the Phase 1 is a priority phase for siblings of students who are currently studying in the school, therefore, parents do not have to come on 3rd and 4th July 2014 for registration .

Hi,
Understand there will be an MTL outing for the students on Tues. Hence the art class will not start on that day so can i know when will the art class be starting? I did not receive any notification on the art class after payment is made so am not sure whether my boy has gotten a place in the art class?
