      bubbleblue:
Hi xlan, can you share more of the CQ & Environmental Education of APS? I am also staying in that area though not nearby to APS.

Hi bubbleblue, i quote from the school's website as below:
In the spirit of Design Thinking, which will be a key pedagogy of the school, the child will be involved in the design of the learning process in this child-centric curriculum. The focus will be on processes and skills for the 21st century, in particular communication and teamwork, collaboration, creative problem-solving, cultural intelligence, critical thinking, and design thinking. Cultural intelligence (CQ) and Environmental education will be the school-based curriculum. CQ will develop in our students the capability, sensitivity and behavioural flexibility to be effective in cross-cultural interactions. In Environmental Education, students will learn about the natural world and understand that everyone must assume responsibility for ensuring the sustainability of the earth's resources for future generations. We will teach our children to adopt a designer's mindset in understanding the world and approaching real world problems. They will learn to be observant, to understand the needs and views of different groups of people and to be creative as they explore new solutions. Technology will be a key enabler in this learning process.

In addition, we will leverage on the infrastructure and financial resources provided by MOE to nurture the aesthetic and physical domains of each child through the integration of the arts into the various subjects, as well as through Programme for Active Learning (PAL), PE, and CCA.

          bubbleblue, u r welcome 😃

we are SC <1km, hopefully by 2016, we are still having good chance in P2C for ALPS.

altho we are just next to Zhangde, but looking at the previous 2 yrs’, balloting would be required for SC <1km in P2C, unless we apply for the PV this yr end. but after we visited the ALPS Open House last weekend, I dropped the idea of PV at Zhangde, and will just place our bet in ALPS in P2C

hi xlan, based on this first batch of registration statistics, those apply for APS in P2C will bound to ballot. Wow registering for PV now?? Is it too early to do so? I thought we still have time… Sorry for my ignorance.

bubbleblue, in the case of zhangde, not now la, but may b after this yr’s registration exercise, they will post up the form for PV next yr, so parents can start PV next yr to 2016, and enter P2B.

Great to found this thread…Never too early to prepare… Lol

I’m staying in Bedok. Thinking to just put my boy in Fengshan primary where I’m a old sch gal or try to do pv for Red swasika which is a super hot school. Problem is both school is within 2 km from our home not 1 km .

A)Was thinking to do pv at RS n try phase 2b if fail then I won’t go in FS cox FS phase 2c statistic shows phase 2c ballot within 1km.

B)still do pv at RS but register at FS at phase 2a2 then pend for registration start for phase 2b n see the odds of ballotting at RS if no need ballot withdraw my place at FS n register at RS phase 2b

                In a dilemma …

Why don't you try to apply for PV at ALPS? :scratchhead:

I’m also worried by 2016, the nearest primary school will need to ballot already. Because last year, P2C already need to ballot for SC > 2km. Don’t know what will happen in a couple more years. So this year I will monitor. If this year P2C requires balloting for SC 1-2km, then PV liao. And hopefullythey will accept me. It’s a new primary school that started receiving P1 students in year 2012. Hopefully no parent has yet to submit PV application.
