I’m staying almost 2km away from the sch but my girl wanted a girls’ school. I’m staying much nearer to Yu Neng and Fengshan but chances of having to ballot is much higher so I rather not take any chances.

My girl is 6yo and we’re planning to register her with Temasek Pri Sch but falls under phase 2c (within 1km). A few questions I have:

1) 2013 P1 registration - was balloting required under phase 2c (within 1km)?
2) Is it better to register online (P1-IS) or do it direct at school?
3) 2014 P1 registration phase 2c - Registration dates are 29-31 Jul (online) and 30 Jul-1 Aug (at school). Results will be known on 6 Aug. If balloting is required, how and when do we know?

Usually, balloting takes place on the results announcement date. In this case, it will be 06 Aug. When you register, the school will let you know the date and time of balloting. At the end of the third day of P2C registration, you may either call up the school to enquire or wait for the MOE website to be updated.

argh!! i'm so stress out with the primary sch selection for my girl. The 3 schools within 1 km at my area require balloting at 2C.. How lucky can I be? The easy way is to get into Temasek as I'm alumni however I live 14km away and i hate to drag her up so early. We don't have any luxury help from parent and my poor girl has been in infant care to child care since 3 months old for 12 hours daily. I don't believe in maid. Daddy says put her on a sch bus still make me feel heart pain :stupid:

So what? relocate the family! :slapshead:[/quote]I am really sorry to hear about your situation. It is a dilemma on what you should do. Ideal situation is to go to a school nearest to your place. Distance is really really important. It is a waste of valuable time to spend it on travelling to and fro especially for a kid so young.

Did you look at the stats of the 3 schools within 1 km from your place? any 1 of them with a higher chance? Is there any P2CS choices near your place? If yes, you can consider taking a chance for balloting for those 1 km schools. Most important is to have backup plan if you need to ballot.

Yes i agree that distance is impt. Tho my girl’s sch is just 6 bus stops away from home, I’m feeling tired sending n fetching her from sch as I have to bring along my 2 yr old. Relocating is impossible for u now as P2C is in August n it’s only 2 months away.
