Those days were very simple...just choose one good school and the rest filled up by schools nearby.

Those days were simple for simple folks like us la. I do believe that some of my classmates who went on to 'gooder' schools (i only remembered hearing cgss, scgs n vs during results release date. Not sure if we had streaming back then, but we were in class number 3) had tuition and well informed parents, which was a luxury back then by my standards.

For us, parents only school hunt for the first kid, the rest of us just follow when our turn comes.

So many powerhouse in ksp...cannot take chance!!

            :boogie:
Oh dear, really feel stressed after reading this. Ds has not been making good use of this holidays. He machiam like need to take medicine too, 3 sets of computer games, morning, afternoon and night. Thought it is ok since it is HOLIDAYS now.. but after reading this, I am regretting....

To be fair to him, he has cut down his computer game this week but he is spending too much time doing his SS. Show ds the post... told him he has lose out... must 快马加鞭 next week and when school starts. But hor, I know it is tough, with school starting soon... stress...Ds asked if 3 sets of papers a day, 3 x 5 = 15 sets, which meant that yr dd has almost finished all the top sch exam papers.

Thank you for the post that brings me back to reality... Time to work... if not it will be too late....hopefully... ds can finish his SS by this week.... then it will be PSLE and PSLE only... lol....

            大家加油。。。。 :rahrah: :rahrah: :rahrah:

To temper the ‘do many, many papers’ trend - I’m not sure that doing a lot is necessary the best way to revise for every child. For some, if they are already on top of the work, it’s just doing the same thing over and over, and can be a waste of time. For those who make more mistakes, they may just be ‘practising their mistakes’. In my opinion, it’s better to look at whether real learning and improvement is happening and to focus on particular skills or sections rather than just do lots of papers. Just one or 2 papers per subject per week should be adequate.

                  machiam take antibiotic...every 6 hours.
But honestly choose selective schools for each subject.

                      Did zero paper :nailbite: 😓
Only finished up school homework over three weeks

Teachers assigned 4 assessment books as holiday homework. 1 for each subject. No need to complete entire book though. Probably around one-third or more in each book. Already so overwhelmed just doing those 4 books
