I'm gonna leave my dd in the sch teachers' and tutor's hands. She is cooperative when doing their assigned work. Anything from me are extras that she moan n groan about. I'll let the teachers be the bad guys 😂

I think whether it is reasonable to expect our dc to do extra practice papers or not really depends on the overall amt of work given by sch, tutors n parents. Towards SA1, I did 'politely declined' some work from dd's CL tutor when I saw her struggling to meet the sch teachers' dateline.

The problem I have with ds' school is they do not mark the papers properly and do not have time to go thru corrections with the kids. They give a lot of worksheet because they have to.

Really donch think the cher will have time to mark. But should make an effort to provide worked answers or option to download it.

Teachers have no time to mark so many past year papers come august…the students exchange to mark…but what is important is knowing why a mistake is made and explained…again this hardly is done.

They usually give answer sheet for the students to check but it is not effective learning.

              Just answers or with workings?
But must remember, this is revision time...not to re-teach what was previously taught. As long as concept is sound, should not have problem understanding the solution.

Next week, a drilling process starts...... 😓

5 days a week - intensive class after school dismissal
Last till end of term 3. :faint:

I am afraid it will be just like the law of diminishing return.... :yikes:

The attitude of the child is very impt. Some will bothers to find out the right answers, some will won't even look at the answers provided by the teachers. I think at P6, the teachers at ds school won't bother if the child is not interested to hep himself or herself.

That's VERY intensive. If the extra lessons are not benefitting, or if it's too tiring for your child, can opt out?

My dd's classmate opt out for this week's supp class. But I dunno what is the reason given.

That's too draining. Teachers won't be teaching new stuff anyway. There should be time to do practice papers during school hours

I took my son out of supplementary classes...if the purpose is just to get past year papers done, I see no point attending them.

5 days a week till end of term 3 will make kids burn out before PSLE. That is as good as not sitting for it.
