normally most kids do not wear uniform to open house, uniforms are for S1 orientation.

                    Mathsparks,

Really looking forward to your sharing of the DSA portfolio, interview etc. For some of us with kids going thru’ this 1st time process, it sounds daunting.

My DS is from the mainstream and I am worried that with his slightly average results and not so outstanding CCA, there is hardly much chances for DSA acceptance next year in P6. However, I am keen to try and let him go thru’ the process, so that it will give him exposure, build his experience and he will get to know where he stands and when compared with others and be motivated to put in the effort to get the school of his choice.

It would be great if parents who has gone thru’ the process can share how the different secondary schs go about conducting the DSA selection and what your kid has gone thru’. Thanks in advance for all the guidance and sharing.

What schools is your child aiming for? Remember, your child MUST want to do the DSA and go thru the process. Do not force your child to go for certain schools. Respect your child. That's v important, so that you don't waste time in an already very busy PSLE year - apply for a school, get offer, then in the end, your child don't really want it? I've heard many of such.

I've got to bring him \"racky\" around this year  . Then, based on his this year P5 year end results, we've got to sit down and analyse and decide on the choice(s) for DSA next year. Must be practical and limit the application too, else will use up too much time and effort in the process which may / may not yield results :xedfingers: .

I'm asking in general, so that if there are parents out there willing to share, there can be more light thrown on the various schools selection process so that parents applying for different schools can have an idea of what to expect.
