Yours? I recall your boy is same age as my elder one.
Hw hv u been? -
Hi periwinklejoy,
That’s how blur I am…not active in motherhood forum now, unlike before when I was always at forum for Hello Kitty.
Yup, my son is 10 and in P4…younger one is in K2 this year.
Your younger gal in P1 this year and both in different sessions. -
no worries.
Yup both in diff sessions.
the P1 adapted quite well in school -
Hi perinwinklejoy,
Son's vocab is weak...will encourage him to read more after CA. He is also very careless and easily distracted
Glad to hear your younger one is adapting well in P1. -
yup, my gal as well. but they dont seems to enjoy reading. they take a long to finish reading a book. not avid readers. tried to get dem all sorts of books. spent quite alot of $ in borders & popular. hv 3 to 4 cabinets of books but… aiy… i cant help but wished I had all these when I was their age. I recalled having to wait for my cousins to finish their Enid Blytons b4 can get to read them. N as I was not in primary school yet, I had lots of time reading and re-reading whatever books I had from my cousins. N wen they didnt want dem anymore, I get to keep them and hurray! I labelled dem, arranged dem in alphabetical order in a small cabinet. Those were d days… nowadays kids hv so much more, but its a double edged sword, due to the excess amt of stuff, activities n programmes dey hv, dey r easily distracted, hence withdrawing into the magical world of ready is not that attractive anymore.

My son is having his CA1 next week…don’t seem to see him very focused and younger one not in reading. Told her to pick up a book to read rather than walking around the house and bugging me for this and that. :x :x Honestly, I don’t enjoy weekends bcos I get tension headache with both at home as compared to weekdays when it’s so peaceful.
I do sound like a horrid mum but I’m stressed. -
Hi Janet,
My gal tries her best to finish her howework everyday but she takes slightly longer time as she seems easily distracted. But in terms of sense of responsibility, she does have it but I guess she prob is just someone dat day dreams a fair bit. I was like that too when young. I hope I can train her to be more focused and fast in her work but she is just generally slower in doing her work. I plan to get rid of the stuff on her study table so that there r less distractions. And I used to hv a schedule but its tough to adhere to as its always takes 2nd position to her school homework. She also feels that she is not so prepared for CA1 but I encouraged by saying we can start attempting SA1 papers earlier so I have a feel of where her weaknesses or lack of understanding lies so we can address it earlier and do reinforcement. Now, its feels like firefighting as I am still going through mistakes with her and not giving her more practice on her area of weakness.
Fortunately CA1 doesnt hv compo. when its comes to SA1 I stil hv to work on compo with her… aiy…
Anyway, its prob my fault as we usually dont do any work on weekends. weekends are crazy play times for d kids. So after March Holidays, I must dedicate an hour on every Sat and Sun to do some work with her (hope I can stick to that). But we are definitely looking 4ward to more fun and play in March! Yeh! -
All th best to all kids doing CA1 this week!
Mine was like, not her biz. She still watched TV and played PC games ytd.
