DS tells me that for any topics, he is able to discuss in English but when he has to converse in Mandarin, he doesn’t know how to express his words so he cant engage in a proper conversation.

For Mainland Chinese students, it will never be a problem.

Tks for all your well wishes. 😄

Today's topic was abt family bonding. Picture was abt families having picnic at marina barage.

Zbear, my dd is like yr ds, think in English & then translate to Chinese which is going to be tough!

            protutor:
The second question goes: What is your opinion on RA films being broadcasted outside? At first thought, I was wondering when did anyone actually broadcast RA films to the whole public. After a while, I guess they are referring to playing it in the cinemas.

I agree that question is :scratchhead:

It wld certainly help if questions are phrased clearly, not only for oral but also for exam paper. Afterall, it is to test the students knowledge/ability/eloquence on the topic. Not interpretation of the question. ..

Hi Sparks, what did your dd have to say abt today's Orals? Can she handle?

I am breaking out in cold sweat when I think of next week.

Just cant wait for it to be over, though.

Luckily, her examiners seemed nice. Otherwise, they can give unwanted stress.

She can’t read some words in d passage as what I expect. But topic was ok n she was able to answer d conversation qns. Think overall not too hard for her compared to d previous days’ topics other than sports one.

                        Hie

                        I need desperate help here.

My ds is currently in P5 and is taking Higher Chinese but was ungraded in SA1.

We plan that to apply for direct school admission.

If the Higher CHinese still continue at this rate. Will it affect the chances of direct school admission thru academics ( English and Maths ) ?

As I understand that all students who go thru DSA into the secondary school has to take higer chinese in their secondary school.

We are pretty worried about this chinese thingy. It’s a headache. Should we let my child continue with the higher chinese during p5 ?
Or drop it all together now ?

Does the children need to take higher chinese during their primary school in order to get easier access into DSA ? Or it is unnecessary for them to take Higher chinese in primary just for DSA ?

Sorry about all these questions. Cause I’m seriously blur with regards to these issue. Worried also.
