To me, I believe passion and the inner calling are what determine a great doctor. If I am ill, I would certainly want to be treated by a doctor who truly care about me and not about the money from my visit.

Anyone who has A'levels, or IB diploma or NUS High School Dip can apply.

Admission score will be based on:

- 'A' Level Prerequisites:

H2 pass in Chemistry and H2 pass in either Biology or Physics

Of the best four content subjects (i.e. 3 H2 and 1 H1 content subjects) used in the computation of the University Admission Score, at least one content subject (either H2 or H1) must be from a contrasting discipline

- International Baccalaureate Prerequisites:

Pass in HL Chemistry and either HL Biology or Physics

-\tNational University of Singapore High School Diploma Prerequisites:

Major CAP of at least 2.0 in Chemistry and either Biology or Physics, and CAP of at least 1.0 in one other major and in English Programme and Research Project

Admission score will also be based these:
Submission of a portfolio, sit for an Essay test and 2 rounds of interview

Undoubtedly it is a tough profession to enter; however very rewarding, and I would strongly suggest that you pursue your passion.


My eldest is currently studying at Imperial (London) and it brings much joy to see how much she is enjoying it.

Sad to say...the world runs with returns...be it in the form of $$ or recognition, fame or anything. Nobody does things for free except Jesus who died on the cross for you and me for the sake of love of us and of course we mummies and daddies

We would love and die for our kids sacrificially.

Are pre-med courses worth the money?

For LKCMedicine and Imperial your DS will be required to sit the BMAT examination. Pre-med courses always tend to provoke strong responses with some applicants branding them a waste of money and others saying that they are essential.

In my opinion, neither is correct. They are by no-means essential however if you can afford the course fee, it is most definitely worth sending your DS. What persuaded me was that if my child did not get a space, what we would spend on gap year expenses and the damage to her confidence would be far greater.

We chose Blackstone Tutors courses (http://www.blackstonetutors.co.uk/singa ... ourse.html) in the end, partly because of recommendation and also because they provided assistance locally rather than having to travel to London etc.
