just curious, does a child born in Singapore considered as SC straight away and has the ability to decide his/her citizenship when turning 18/21 years old, if the parents are not SC?
Once u turn 18 I think u will be asked to choose your citizenship- that's if u hold dual nationalities now. Other countries allow dual, only sg doesn't. -
any updates on nanyang and rosyth??

Any idea how many PVs are there for Kong Hwa school this year fighting for vacancies in 2B?

I asked the person in charge.....she said yes, within 1 km will be given priority. However, if there are more applicants within 1 km than the available vacancies, balloting still applies....@carilyn thanks! but if my friends who are all SC and all stay less than 1km, they will get it no?
unless sway sway SC less than 1km kena have to ballot... -
Any update for Temasek Primary, Red Swastika or Yu Neng for phase 2B ?

if parents are not SC, the child born in Singapore will not even be considered a SC automatically.
at least one parent is Singaporean, the child born in Singapore will automatically be considered as Singaporean. then if the child is a boy, i think at 16 (before NS call-up), he is allowed to choose his citizenship.
but i don't suggest having dual citizenships if one of them is Singapore. complicate matters -
If 1 of the parent is a Singaporean, the registrar will ask if you want your child to be Singaporean…have to make a decision there and then…(of coz most couples would have discussed before that)

got wind from my friends, they are sweating now because over subscribed liao, about 70 contesting for 46 seats at Hong Wen. the question now will then be, out of the 70, how many of them are SC staying less than 1km?

Nanyang 2b registration already 30 as of 11am this am (23 vacancy) and Henry Park is 12 only this morning (20 vacancy) - this is the first time in Henry Park for recent years to have no balloting - last year’s measure working clearly! GRC who can go for either schools should definitely look at Henry Park !
