Nope, not in particular to any teacher from pcps, juz a general enquiry as I heard of such discipline acts on kids in Singapore schools. Wow, am surprised that its happening in PCPS too and to lower primary students somemore. :yikes:
To add... its seems teachers nowsadays also pinch or hit students with their hands. I personally thinking that physical attacks or punishment are not allowed. Guess, MOE should give parents/ school staff what are the acceptable disciplinary methods.
The above scenarios are very familiar. Is it by an elderly teacher teaching lower primary?bleeze:
Just wanna find out on discipline by teachers at school. Is knocking of head with knuckles allowed in school? Crushing of students work and throwing them away, considered reasonable? And putting child down in front of whole class but scolding the child \"stupid\" a kinda of personal attack and should not be allowed? All the above scenario are not towards a particular child by a single particular teacher. Juz wanna find out what is the tolerant level that parents show allow teachers to discipline children at schools now.
Appreciate all feedbacks and replies.
TIA

I think that if such acts are seen in PCSP, especially by teachers from the lower primary level, it should be discussed with the respective teacher that such ways of discipline are not acceptable. BTW, what subject is the teacher teacher?

Hi, my son will be in P3 next year. May I understand how is CCA allocated? Will my son be able to select what he likes? Is Math Olympiad considered as a CCA too?
By the way, I heard compulsory remedial starts at P3. This means if include CCA, the kids need to stay back in school 4 times a week? -

Except for niche sports cca such as basketball, volleyball, wushu and table tennis which will have selection done by teachers and offered to your child, the other cca is up to your own preference. For performing arts, they require audition. In sept (I think ) we will receive option form to sign up for your child's preferred cca.Hi, my son will be in P3 next year. Maths Olympiad is not cca but your child will be exempted from maths academic support (AS). Also it's a case of the school makes the selection.
Most P3 stay back 3 times a week (cca, maths & English, higher chinese , no science) unless child's cca requires more practice.

lionqueen:
Thanks lionqueen. I thought I can drop my DD1 who will be in P1 next year and at the same time, wait for my son. If DS needs to stay back at least 3 times a week, it will not be possible anymore. I have to pick up my DD2 from her pre-school too. OMG! Have to settle all the logistics issues.

First Toa Payoh Secondary School will be gone in 2016, merge with Bartley Secondary.

Timing is just right! Hopefully, FTPSS is big enough for PCPS to use as a holding school in 2016. At least, this is not too far away from Lor 7. -

Yes! Will be a more ideal location than the much speculated ITE AMK.

Oh..... great news. Hope that the school management can change the holding school ground to First Toa Payoh Sec Sch instead of ITE AMK.
Anyone can sound this message to the school management or perhaps any Parent Support Group Memebers here can sound it to the school. It would be the best location. :xedfingers:
