I wondering if there are any parent volunteers of Temasek Primary in this forum? I'm thinking of sending my son to the school but I could not find any information regarding the application for parent volunteers from the school website. Can anyone help? My boy will be attending P1 in 2012.

I'm not a parent volunteer but i know can get the volunteer form from the school general office (need to bring yr IC to register at the security counter before going in school). If I'm not wrong, you need to submit the form by May/Jun 2010 (and complete the min volunteer 40hrs by May/Jun 2011)

I am doing parent volunteer in TPS now. Go down to the general office to get the form and you have to submit by June this year.


Choose math corner and library. This year no of pv is more than no of est seats. So may still need to ballot. So be prepared for such thing. If you live within one km, chances of getting in higher.

For your info you can do pv for more than one school.

There’s a change of principal this year, so am not sure whether there has been any major changes.


In my opinion, this is one of the better neighbourhood schools. I believe, as with all schools, there’s a mix of better and average teachers. My son was fortunate to be taught by caring and committed teachers in his years there. My interactions with the teachers and the general office staff have been pleasant and fruitful.

List of CCAs is vast. A fee is required for some CCAs as they are taught by external instructors.

I’ve had no regrets registering my child in this primary school.

But based on the academic ranking, it seems like it is just an average school. My aunt told me it used to be one of the better ones, seems like the standard has dropped. Any thoughts on this?

Cant comment on the situation now cos my child has left the school.


Personally I think that the school PSLE results are not bad considering it is a nonGEP school. Don’t know whether the results have dropped compared to the past. I believe that in 1999, the school topped the PSLE -I understand that the top student was offered a place in GEP but choose to remain in Temasek.

Still think it is a better neighbourhood school compared to others. But of course, there are other better schools. Depends on each person’s standard and perception. I liked the school because I noticed that the kids are well-behaved despite the fact that the students are from different backgrounds.
