      hi

I just got my PV rejection letter from Pei Hwa saying they reach the PV quota.
Does anyone knows if there are people who appeal and get into PV ?

Else is there any chance if to apply under Phase 2C if I am more than 2km ?

      Thanks in advance

School decision is final. That said, even if they offer it to you, I won't even suggest that you take it, unless you intend to move <1km.

This year, Pei Hwa has 41 applicants for 41 vacancies. In previous years, it has always faced the ballot for >2km in P2B. Hence, you may not even get your reward after serving as a PV in the school. So far, a number of schools have rejected PV >2km and given Pei Hwa balloting history, I won't be surprised if they are doing the same.

According to the stats in this forum, ballot in P2C has occurred for <2km since 2006 (<1km since 2010). You can probably conclude that there is no chance at all if you are >2km.

Applicants for more than 1km was told to withdraw their application yesterday during Day 1 of P2B at Rosyth. 1-2km no chance to ballot even. So I guess they
might tighten their selection of PV going forward.
I was accepted as PV last year although I stay more than 2 km away. (DD born 2008) - but I quitted the program eventually due to an unexpected pregnancy. Out of the 20 PV, only 13 stay within one km. The staff told us those PV not successful in balloting will be the top of their wait list. My friend (son born 2007) did her PV but was not balloted in - but she put in so much hours for her PV work that she was the top of the wait list and eventually some other kid pull out at phase 2C and her boy is now a happy student at Rosyth P1.

                Hi,

I recently heard this information from a school teacher that govt is considering to remove volunteering phase. Does anyone have any idea on this one?

I also notice that some schools doesnt provide the option to do PV now, instead they use parents of existing children

It does not according to this:

But no harm calling to double check. They may have changed their policy.

                    Hi,

My child is born in 2011, I have to start applying to PV next yr right?? YR 2015 when the child turns 4??

For me, Alexandra Pri Sch is within 1km whilst Radin Mas and River Valley are 1-2km for me -
how high are the chances of getting into PV for Radin Mas vs River Valley?? and I heard getting into PV need not guarantee anything even if u clock the necessary hrs - why is this so?? is it cos of balloting only or due to other factors in the registration system???

My hubby is more worried and says I better volunteer at APS even though I’m within 1km (though i’ve not heard of PV in APS yet) cos by the time my girl is due to register for P1, I might face more competition and my best chances are only with APS by distance and we all know APS already did balloting in phase 2c in its first year of P1 registration.

If anyone can advise, really which sch is worth volunteering for (in terms of increasing chances of getting in), I would greatly appreciate it. We might not have info for APS but is RVPS voluteering scheme tougher than RMPS? Or is RVPS PV more popular (i.e. competitive) than RMPS or the other way round? I just want to make sure I am able to increase my chance for more than 1 sch, to play safe, instead of pin all my hopes in APS…cos nothing is guaranteed…and i dont want surprises last min…

I would advise APS as the P and the VP are from good schools previously. Its new so not so much hype about it yet. So, its better to secure a chance there than risk it at Radin Mas orrrr you van PV at both!
