All About Home Addresses

MOE guideline, you must move in that rented property before the kid started P1, that is 1 Jan 20xx. Hope this helps.
Even before that, your NRIC needs to show the address of this rented property when you register, i.e. coming July. -
Hi all mummy n daddy dearest,
when we register for P1, does the school need both parents’ IC or just daddy’s IC to determine the address?
thank you for your reply -
According to MOE's list of required documents: http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/required-documents/
A: For Children who are Singapore Citizens
1.The child’s Singapore Birth Certificate.
2.The child’s Singapore Citizenship Certificate for those who are not Singapore Citizens at the time of birth.
3.Singapore NRIC of both parents or Entry / Re-entry Permits of parents if they do not possess Singapore NRIC. -

good question.
my ic add is still my mum's while my hb's is at my PIL's. We stay with my PIL. Before my DS1 turns P1 this year, all the communications with the govt with relations to my kids were sent to my mother's address. So that means, the kids will follow the mother's IC address - I think the govt will assume that way.
Last year, my DS1 registered for school. Hb registered him to his old school. He brought his and my ID for the registration. I think he used PIL's address to register. ok, went through.
I think you can call that school you are eyeing on this. I think you can use the address you have on your IC. Should not be a problem.
Good luck! -
I’ve checked with my MOE friend before, he said MOE will basically go with husband’s address on IC if both parents have different addresses. This sounds like tree nymph’s case, as well as mine. My address is different from my DH, and my DD1 was registered using the address on his IC.

I believe this point has been mentioned several times in this forum. There is NO WAY you can register your child with two different schools AT THE SAME TIME even if the addresses shown in your and your spouse's NRIC are different. The system accepts only ONE application at any point in time during the registration exercise.
