      Double E:

Helping a friend to seek advise

She is staying within 1km of Tao nan and Ngee Ann pri and will be registering her child for phase 2c.

Looking at the stats, Tao nan will have 42 seats for 2C and Ngee Ann will have 56 seats.
Would you advise that she try Tao nan or Ngee Ann next week?

My take is, both schools will likely to ballot but Tao nan risker, may need to ballot for those within 1km whereas Ngee Ann's balloting may for those that stays further.

      Can anyone advise?

      thanks

The way I understand Ngee Ann Primary will have 63 vacancies for P2C. Am I wrong?

I calculated, is 56. How did you get 63?

cos now at phase 2b, 35 registered for 49 places. So this 35 all in and balance is 14 to spill over to phase 2c. Phase 2c will have 42 seats (including the 20 fix by MOE), so 42 + 14 is= 56. Can anyone help if I get the numbers correctly.

It's quite disappointing to see that most sch ballot for <1km. Leaving no chance for those leaving further away.

Some people are lucky to have a few schools to choose from within 2km while some have none even within 1km (read from some ksp posts). So is this a case of poor estate planning by lumping a few schools so close to each other? :?

She is staying within 1km of Greenridge and 1-2km of Bukit Panjang Primary, will be registering her child for phase 2C.

Would you advise that she try Greenridge or Bukit Panjang Primary for next week’s registration?

          Can anyone advise?

Actually I calculate it to 62 NOT 63. Sorry!
            It's 48 + 14 = 62.
48 is what came to P2C after all P2A were done. Original 20 plus approx half of (200 less 143).

Please advise if I am wrong.

feel sad for those need to ballot within 1 km. imagine the sch is so near and yet

              still have to ballot .
for those stay outside 1km , all their PV effort will be wasted. ( 40 hrs or
              1 yr GRL)

62 is correct... i think Double E uses 2c spaces for Tao Nan (42 + LeftOvers which is none) instead of Ngee Ann (48 + LeftOvers)

Opps. yah!! I use 42 which is Tao nan and not Ngee Ann. Thank you so much for correcting me!

I would think so. Cos for me, I have 3 schools within 1km and another 3 within 1- 2km, total 6 schools to choose from. Though non are the so called branded schools except for 2, I can't ask for more.

The next two nearest are at the border which are far & inconvenient.
But I must say is that I am a working mum and I do not work near my home. I enrolled my ds to ccc nearer to my workplace as I don't have the ample time to fetch him home if I park him in the neighborhood. Same situation apply for primary school. I need a sch nearer to my workplace rather near my home. My only hope is ph2b...

Bt Panjang most likely need balloting for <1km so she doesn't stand a chance.
