      Hi Miracle child,

The kids have their access quite sometime ago.. if i remember correctly, it's either 2nd or 3rd week of Jan when the boys were given their login. You try if you can access cos id/password should be your son birth cert no.

Both my boys were not notified to bring their personal utensils yet. Don't think we should worry about this as my son's FT (1G) updates her blog everyday..she didn't mention anything about utensils.
Thanks, VVJJ for the information. Will try and see. By the way, how were you informed of the access? Notice form, Marist Buddy?

        1F Mummies

Please help! For this week's Journal Writing, are the boys supposed to write something about helping others? Son could only recall this much. No title was written on his book & nothing at the Marist Buddy either. I wish, oh so wish that the title could be clearly written on the board & more information could be spelt out clearly on the board or did my son miss out anything here? Maybe she is testing their listening skills?

        Thank you so much!
        Hi Honey,

My son told me it is about how he spend his weekend :?

          Hi Miracle Child

Thanks for sharing what your son's idea on this week's journal. I hope your son & you have a good weekend & he can write about it 😄 . My son has completed his journal y'day morning so I shall just let it be. I am sure the FT has an interesting time reading different topics regarding this week's journal.

The id & password is pasted in small print on page 3 of my son's Marist Buddy. Perhaps you can check the top of Page 3 of your son's Marist Buddy Book. Hope you can locate it there 😄 .

Its the start of a new week again. Hope you’ve all had a good weekend!

Finally had a chance to see the Math workbook again, and can confirm that my boy’s is current up to page 50+. Phew!! Really irked by the empty marist buddy. He said that teacher did not ask him to write his assignments in the buddy and that his classmates are also not doing so. Got him to promise me to try recording his assignments in the buddy this week.

My boy wrote about "My Weekend" in his journal. The date, proverb and title was already written in the journal in school. He had a hard time doing this, writer’s block!! Was so tempted to help him, but luckily he managed to complete it yesterday afternoon.

Bringing of own utensils is a great idea to reduce waste. May want to try it out tomorrow. I have tried searching for the blog on the askNLearn portal but there isn’t a 1F blog there. Anyone accessed already?

                Honey,

I only saw your msg now as I have been busi for the past few days. Yes, i asked my son the same question too and all he can say is he’s not so sure. The title is "Courtesy costs nothing". He said "maybe" write in few sentences. This is stressing me out as well , always trying to guess what the teacher wants at times. YEs, no updates in his buddy… Super empty for the week!! Compared to my 1G boy, it’s really totally different…! My 1G boy even has Maths spelling today!! Nothing from 1F or it’s just different teaching methods…

                  Hi Valsboys,

I don't think 1F has started it's blog thru asknlearn. I have tried checking but FT didn't set it up. For 1F, it's still under wordpress. If you notice, 1B's daily blog is still accessible via wordpress currently. My 1G boy's FT migrated to asknlearn as she uploads the weekly spelling list there. Guess different teachers have different ways of updating parents. To me 1F FT definitely didn't update any blogs (correct me if i'm wrong).

Btw, did I mention 1G class has started using the Chinese character cards around 3rd/4th week of school opening and my 1F boy is still keeping his cards in the bookshelf at home..

It's not only stressing me out, by trying to figure out what the journal is all about without the title, I had to ask my son questions. He felt so bad for stressing me out that at some point, he apologetically said \"maybe I didn't pay attention\" \"maybe teacher said but maybe I was busy doing something\" \"I really cannot remember\". You know, I feel so lousy after that for indirectly stressing him up. He shouldn't have to feel bad as it isn't his fault when teacher hasn't provided clear instructions :x ! These are only P1 kids of 6 - 7 years old. Surely more instructions & guidance should be given to journal writing.

Here I am trying to be a supportive mother (& I am sure to the rest of you mummies too) to the school, to make sure my child completes all homework given to him, learns all his spelling, ting xie yet the lack of communication or lack of support really saddens me!

But thanks to the few of you mummies from 1F who come by here that we can share & help each other. I appreciate the support & sharing.

I have to agree that 1G class is a lot more organized. The form teacher is very responsive and she has been replying to all our emails within 24 hrs, sometimes late at night.

I see many of you, mummies are so stressed up… I’m just wondering, doesn’t your husband help out in your kid’s studies?

                        Hi VVJJ,

You are right, the blog is not updated for more than a month already. Thank you also for sharing on the flash cards. I just saw it over the weekend and was wondering when its going to be used.

Honestly, I am getting worried about the quality and commitment of the teachers. Last weekend, while checkinghis Math workbook I found some mistakes that my son made in his work, and the teacher marked them as correct!! In fact, my son found one of those errors himself!!

There are spelling and vocabulary lists in the AskNLearn portal under Messages up to unit 12.
