Popular book shop should have. You can call them before heading down.

My DS needs one for school, but the music teacher told them the one from their school bookshop is not recommended. So hope to get some quick advice on where can we get one.

          TIA!
But will the one you get elsewhere be any better? You might want to ask the teacher to recommend brands that she approves of, and also where to get them.

You're right. Yup will see what we can find out today.

Sigh.. the teacher really should have given the kids more information, esp since the recorder is needed next monday. It used to be that teachers would order for the classes, which would save parents the scramble and ensure all use the same set.

Yamaha has a whole range of them. The cheapest one is less than $10. The most expensive I forget, but I think it might be several hundred bucks. Don’t think you can go too far wrong buying one from the likes of Yamaha.

I’m shocked that the teacher would say that the school bookshop one is not recommended but not help to buy them…shouldn’t the bookshop then stock one that the teachers would use?

Anyway…I saw many on Carousell the other day…

                  Exactly.

Anyway… DS couldn’t find out anything new. We happened to be at Junction 8’s Popular and found one for $3 so just bought that.

For info to other parents, some time after that I happened to be at Plaza Sing so checked out Yamaha, but didn’t see any recorders. So better call Yamaha branches to check if you want to buy their recorders.

Talking about recorder, do you all buy one every year as per school list? I let my dd reuse the one from last year but yesterday I saw it was quite smelly. Wash also still got saliva smell. Is it because it’s too dirty already? My dd also bite her recorder until a lot of bite marks. Should I scold her? Thought she shouldn’t bite on it?
