        Hi temjin68

When I was doing PV a couple years ago, I did come across a 'special need' boy in the P6 class that I was escorting on an excursion. Not sure if he had ADHD, autism or other types of behavioral issues, tho'. The teacher in charge of his class seemed quite capable to handle him. The other teachers on the excursion were also helpful. But then, his case seemed quite mild - just teasing of the girls, not lining up/listening to instructions, etc.

My son's class has a 'problem kid'. Keeps forgetting homework, destroying/throwing my son's stationery (he sits next to the boy 😛 ), etc. Teacher does try to help by writing the instructions in the diary so that parents are aware (parent has to signoff) & assigning buddies to help out the boy (Teacher got my son to call his father to remind him to study for 'spelling' the following week. ).

I think the teachers are trained somewhat to help out the mild cases. You might want to check with the school for more details of specific cases.

I am glad to hear that NYPS is accomodating in the needs of the ADHD child seeing that they are very \"acadamic\".

Does anyone knows the CCA in NYPS? What are the popular CCAs? I m trying to access the website, but couldnt click on the CCA column.

Yes, I have a friend whose son is P6 this year at NYPS. She told me his son also ADHD and his teachers (across the different levels) have been very understanding and helpful. She even sent her son to a school camp recently and the teacher-in-charge said no problem he'll look out for him 😄 So far very positive feedback about the teachers!

I'm not sure which are the populars one but i Know usually the sports CCA. However, many times the children actually signed up as enrichment during p1 and they kind of stay till p3 (if they are good and enjoying it) then th children usually are encourage to take it up as their CCA. Cos by p4 when they are suppose to choose many already got CCA. Hope this helps.

I think the popular ones are Chess, Chinese Dance, Gym. Looks like the school team is strong in these. Maybe also the Chinese Orchestra and Strings enselmble.
