Is this poll outdated or is north spring not a good school?

I think North Spring Primary is underrated by most parents because of the on-going PERI upgrading/construction works and the perceived poor academic results in the past.

Results have improved steadily over the years with emphasis on all-round education. Next year, the ISH would be completed so the school will have more space for activities.

Some schools are popular because the schools have student care center. North Spring will have one in 2015 but I was told that it is limited to just 60 students so parents who must have such service would have to consider other schools. However, many schools have limited space for child care center so boh pian. In the end, choose the school which is most convenient for you as the standard of education is pretty much the same!

I am a mummy with 2 kids in Seng Kang Pri Sch. One graduated in 2012 n another in P6 this year. I hv seen many positive changes in the school. I do not regret sending my children there and teachers n principal are good.

I bought RiverSound last year and plan to move in next year. I checked and found out that North Vista Primary is the nearest school, my son is 4 years old now and 2016 he should be in primary school. I am very worry about my son because:


1. I don’t know when should I register for my son for the enrollment?
2. My house has not TOP yet. I do not have an address to register.
3. Do I need to do parent volunteer for North Vista Primary?

1. You mentioned that your boy is expected to be in P1 in 2016, so registration wld be July/Aug 2015.

2. You should checked when is Riversound TOP-ing? if it scheduled on 2017, you can safely use your RiverSound address for registration. Typically, the condo will be ready for TOP by 1 year ahead. You can use the Doc for the Purchase for registration as it will show your new address is within 1km of the school.

3. If you want to be a PV, normally the school would have accept registration this year. You might have miss the registration as its already Aug. Safer is to call the school and enquire and get a confirmation.

Both schools are quite a distance apart. My advice is choose the school near your house. Because every morning is a mad rush. Btw, my ds is in nsps. I'm happy with the teachers.

Looking at the vacancy of SK primary school (40 places), guess the chance of getting into SK primary school might be low for those 1-2km. Ideally, try to choose one that is within 1km from your home, to avoid having to go thru balloting again.
