If the school is hot like Rosyth, then yes, must shift to 1km coz it'll be like volunteering for nothing in the event of balloting. My friend PVed for St Hilda's but lives >2km. She didn't even get a chance to ballot at 2B in that year and had no chance at 2C due to the distance. Luckily she managed to get in later as she was high up on the wait list due to her PV efforts. -

During my time, although I was staying within 1km, I went 1 step further - be a PV.
Thank goodness, there wasnt a need to do balloting for PVs. Everyone got in. -

Moral of the story is, if you want to PV at hot schools, best is to move within 1km to have a higher chance.

What about renting? Maybe you can consider rent out your current place and rent a place within one km from the school?

Kab your kid got in rgs le? It's the logistic and location that is holding me back .. If I were to rent I rather move haha -

If I do not even have a chance for balloting, I would not even do PV for starters. But since you have already begun, u may wanna discontinue if u find it real pointless and will not be shifting houses.

U know..a few of my pv kakis shifted to within 1km of sch. I didn't. I stayed within 2km. Needed balloting. But my hubby and I don't believe in doing such extreme things. Of cos, to each his own. If I were a millionaire, I might too. Who knows ?
I feel , just do the things that are within your means. And don't regret.
For me, from past years' statistics, I should have a chance to enter balloting. This is a chance I took.
I also enjoyed the PV work leh..in fact, i asked them for more challenging tasks... -

Yeah my girl got in. We stay very close to the RGPS. But when I was unexpected pregnant with number three, we panicked before we knew the gender. What if it's a boy?!? So I quickly got myself into PV with Rosyth. And planned to rent a place near the school. (rent will come from rental income from renting out our own place. Lucky my third baby cooperated and opened her legs big big during her 15 week scan. Gynae confirmed it's a girl. Next day we resigned from the PV program. -
Hello, anybody know when is the registration period of PV for West Grove PS?
And is there any requirement/screening to accept PV application?
