:thankyou:Kee Kor,
1) go through at least 3-4 Past year Specimen Paper
2) memorize alll italian terms
3) summarise each chapter in theory book
4) memorize key signatures
The theory exams are always repeating the similar questions so your child will get a hang of the types of questions that will be given. The teacher should know better and guide you both, ya. -

Yes, teacher has registered already. So we have to shop for them ourselves or usually teacher will help to buy when closer to exams??Kee Kor:
Ok will start to check out music bookshops once DS is done with his theory book.
You should ask your piano teacher how many set of past year papers are required. Normally the teacher would required like 3 sets of latest past year papers which means 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Btw, have your piano teacher register the theory exam for your child? The closing date is over already. It was on 15 August and the exam is on 25/10/2014.
Normally theory exam result shall released within 6-8 weeks after exam date.
:thankyou: -

:thankyou:[/quote]Normally I ask students to buy themselves since the past year papers are readily available in many places. As long as the syllabus is completed, should start on the past year paper as soon as possible so the students will be familiar with the different wordings and variations of the questions. For myself, I prefer my students to actually be able to pass a past year paper by the time they are registered for the exams.
For lower grades, can start the past year a bit later. But no harm buying the papers now and their accompanying model answers. -
Usually i never ask any of my students to buy the model answers. Thats about another 5$ on answers the teacher can easily mark within minutes.
Unless its grade 6-8 syllabus, which is more complicated and has more than one answers to some questions.
I play it safe, i would start on past year Papers now already. Even if syllabus is completed or almost completed. -
This is a very nice arrangement of a popular Sunday School song. Sorry for some feedback sound in the recording, it was a bit windy when I recorded this.
