Not sure if the collar PE T-shirt is of Polo-Tshirt material..but it is sleeveless. I think for the upper pri gal (P5/6, not sure if P4 is included), they are only allowed to wear the PE shirt (or their respective house T-shirt) during PE lessons. Other time, they shd be wearing the white blouse.bebe,
Didn't know P3 onwards, there is collar for the PE top. Isn't it hot enough?
I agree with you, the weather is so hot these few days. On certain days, I start sneezing when I wake up because of the haze. Will get the cooler and thinner material of shorts on days when there is no PE. Thanks for informing me
My son's school allows him to wear just PE attire on days when there is PE for both girls and boys. But I remember IJ wants the girls to wear the pinafore right after PE.
For P1, they can remove their pinafore and wear only the PE attire until end of the day. But for P2, they have to put on their pinafore immediately after the end of the PE lessons.
Oh ya....It is better to write names on the pinafore so that the gals will not wear the wrong uniform home (It happens!!) -
Hi bebe,
It's nice to know gals in P1 can wear just PE attire for the rest of the day.
Will also write her name on the pinafore. Thanks for letting me know all this.

What kind of markers (& colour) do you use to write the name & where about do you write the name? Afraid the colour of the marker will run & stain the white blouse. Thanks for sharing. -

For English assessment, I get one that covers Vocab, grammar and comprehension. I think it depends on the individual child..like for my P2 gal, she is rather weak in grammar so I get her a separate assessment book that focus mainly on grammar.Hi bebe,

The sch will return the worksheets to the gals before end of the month, so from there I can tell what topics are being covered in class and see if extra coaching is needed in her weak areas.
At the beginning of the school, My gal was also given a booklet which contains the spelling lists for the whole year as well as a list of useful/common grammar and vocab eg singular/pural, present/past tenses, comparative adjectives, places/occupation, similies and etc.
The teachers also circularise letters to the parents informing them the topics that are covered and will be covered during the term. The letter are usu given out during the middle of the term ie. Feb letter will give a brief description of the topic cover in Term 1 (Jan-Mar) -
Honey:
I use a permanent black marker and write her name at the pocket (on the inner side of the pinafore).bebe:

Hi bebe,
Appreciate the info you gave regarding English.
Saw the 2010 booklist for Eng...parents are to get this book title 'Stellar Handwriting' by Teachers' Production.
Do you have any idea what it is ?
As for uniform, I was still thinking where to write her name
Thanks to Honey for asking. -

The Stella Handwriting book is incl in the booklist in 2010..my older gal did not have it during her time - she only had loose worksheets prepared by the teachers.
The initial pages of the Stellar book cover mainly tracing. Then subsequent pages will get them to write big capital letter and small letter...not sure what else is inside the book as the books are kept by the teacher in the class. My gal said the exercise are completed as independent tasks (i.e they will initiate to complete the pages during the free time or once they have completed the class work). -
bebe,
So this book is mainly on penmanship.
I am looking forward to register my daughter in CHIJ in July.

Mummies,
I would to know how is the principal Mrs Margaret Tan ? Is she the result-oriented kind of principal or warm, patient motherly sort who wants to groom girls in an all-rounded education ?
