This has been the common practice since my dd's time (5 years ago)

          Hi hi, checking in…

DS just completed prelims. I know difficult papers are expected during prelimins. Has any parent here encountered reasonable prelims?

My dd completed her prelims and received marks.the paper was difficult and she just managed to pass in maths, we are so worried about her maths, don’t know how she’s going to cope psle. She dropped in Mt by 10 marks, and for science and el dropped to b.

But heard from dd surprisingly most of her friends who got around 50 in few papers in sa1 shot upto 70+…
She started lacking confidence that’s she’s the only one with no improvement.
Don’t know where to start revision.both of us are totally lost…

                Same for my dd.

Her Maths prelim marks is quite bad, most of classmates got A or higher. She is worried. Her teacher told them that was a easy paper..

                  Dear mummy n daughter

                  Don't give up...

Go thru the Prelim Maths paper together with your daughter.

List out what are her mistakes and work out from there.

Still got time to improve on it....

                  Jia You! :grphug:

Wonder why must school set such killer papers for prelims. If the child cannot sit for PSLE due to medical reasons, they will use prelim results.

Also wonder if prelim is difficult for all schools. If not, will it "disadvantage" kids who had it difficult.

For EL main paper, heard from ds and parents from other class that the passing rate is only 10+ in each class. So alot of kids end up failing EL during prelim. We will be getting the papers today and hence be able to evaluate if it is indeed so much tougher and where the problem lies.
