We have yet to venture to Facebook but dd's favourite is Club Penguin. I often ask why the school did not set a paper on Club Penguin and sure dd will score A ** !!!

Confirmed a note REF 036/10 (but w/o date) was given, before CNY.
Based on the student's handbook, the CA should start around 25 Feb. Due to various reasons (Rulang participated in Chingay etc), the CA starts such late.
Also, the teachers have been busy preparing the kids with the CA.
Anyway, marks from CA are not counted into the report book.

Anyonen know what do they test for computer skills?

Dd took this test before; think is some mcq qns. Else, you can email to ask Mr Kwan who is quite a nice teacher.

My dd should be taking maths and science.

hmmm...I wonder is it worth while to purchase the past ICAS papers....?

Erm...can someone enlighten me on ICAS. What is the purpose and why are the students doing it and for which level? Totally blur here. :oops:

Hi Lock,

No CA 1 for p1 but there will be a mock text around apr. The student’s handbook should have the scheduled dates but watch out for the newsletter or leaflet as it gives the latest (updated) dates for important events,

There will be mid-year and year-end exam.

Kids in p1 will all go to p2 in the same class ie no sorting or grouping based on the results for p1.

ICAS is some kind of test for various subjects (note you have to pay but can use $$ in Edusave) that your kid may be keen to take during the school hours. Usually, quite a lot of kids will take say Math. Those who did not sign up for Math when the rest are taking will do their own things.

The test will be marked and then returned before the year ends. The result will show roughly your kid’s standard based on the overall standard; some kind of benchmark involved. Please take it as a pinch of salt (!) as it is not equal to your kid’s school exam result. My dd did very well in her Sc ICAS paper but poorly in her school exam!

We let dd took MA & Sc to gain some exposure outside the textbooks.
