Can anyone comment on the following options for kids who cant make it to our local Unis and are too poor to go overseas? Extracted the list from yesterday’s New Paper Go Guide.
Are their degrees recognised by local employers? How about the campus facilities, quality of lecturers and any feedback from friends?

If you are referring to ACCA qualification, yes, ACCA is recognised. -
yes sleepy, that’s wat its listed on the SAA page. They’re established in 1985 and degrees are awarded by the Uni of London and graduates can sit for the ICPAS exam to become a CPA.
So this looks like one of the safer options. Just wondering if anyone has taken this route before. -

Agree that its a safer option that will lead to a prestigious professional qualification, esp if one is a qualified CPA. Just to add on that I have been told by DH's frd that its a v v difficult course. He himself had to re-take a few papers b4 finally getting thru.yes sleepy, that's wat its listed on the SAA page. mathsparks, I will try and see if I can contact him (DH's frd) to find out more. I know of 2 others who have done this course but unfortunately, we have lost contact.
Actually, if your daughter is good with numbers and is meticulous abt details, then I think shd be okie lah ...

I have a friend who can’t make it to university. She went to poly taking accountancy. then she graduate and work in the line. a few years later, she got married had kids and along with the kids, she decided she wanted to take ACCA organized by the SAA. She doesn’t need to retake any exams/papers. she cleared her 2 levels quite fast and she has to 4 very young children to care for too. I was very impressed by her accomplishements. I think she was able to skip ACCA first level. she did the 2nd and 3rd levels only.
my own niece is also like your daughter. she is now in SIM Global Education. Forgotten what course she is taking. But I’m pretty sure that her degree would be recognised.
