Was told CHS's math is tough in both Pri and Sec. If they are coping well above then they are really good leh. Do u send them for any enrichment? Especially math subject. My elder boy did quite ok. He's quite good in math - not sure if musical training has anything to do with this(!). He's in Year 1 in sec sch already and having a equally, if not more challenging schedule, so his primary school years in CHS were very good training for him.
My younger boy so far has been doing alright. Not supersmart, but keeps an above average performance in school with chinese and math being his better subjects.
I monitor their schedule quite closely though. -

This year, should be 3x morning (Mon, Wed, Fri) & 2x afternoon (Tue & Fri). Actually, I lost track liao cos to me, it's like everyday carry violin to sch!
Haiyah, during the run-up to syf, it's always like that. It used to be morning practices 5x/week in the 2006 syf plus 3x afternoon practices !!! Then in 2008 syf, it was reduced to 3x/week for morning practices and 2x afternoon practices. This year, it's similar? Or only 2x/week mornings plus 2x/week afternoons?
My younger boy in another CCA is having 2x/week morning plus 3x/week afternoon practices. Will be glad when April's competitions over! Can breathe. Altho' the schedule is tight, it is all quite exciting, lah.
Ya, will really be glad when April is over then ds will be free and then can dump assessment books on him to do!! -

Violin quite easy to carry. My son has to play 2, so carry 2 long cases 4x a week - very *sian* , and he small-sized. -

Which level is your boy?
My 2 boys are on their own in math - no enrichment. My elder boy esp enjoys math and continues to do fairly well in that subject. I'm not sure if Math in CHS sec is tough? Bc my elder boy is not in CHS sec.
Younger boy is not esp outstanding in any subject. I was just saying he's better in math & chinese. He has great interest in chinese. -

Ya, violin not so bad. When he was playing cello in p3/4, i also fainted when he had to bring the cello home. Why your ds need to carry 2?meiah:
