anyone knows if we are able to do toyko disneyland and disneysea and probably a bit of sightseeing elsewhere in toyko for about 4k for 2 adults and 2 kids? 5D4N?

4k to include all expenditure (food, entrance fees and maybe buy a bit of goodies in japan)

any recommendations on airline and accommodation to fit that budget?

        Hi hi

Anyone can recommend any decent hotel which is near to Disneysea ?

Thought of visiting Tokyo in Early Dec and visit Disneysea too. Had been to Disneyland 2 years back.

The Disneysea hotel is too expensive at about $500 per night.

We will be staying few days near Ginza and wanted to book for 1 or 2 nights near Disneyland.

        Thank you

I used Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel.

I booked Sheraton Tokyo Bay on hotels.com for this mid November a couple of months ago when they had a promotion. It was around SGD 215 per night.

I love Disneysea and it took me one whole day to explore Disneysea. I didn’t have time to explore Disneyland. Do allocate two days to explore.

Thinking of making holiday plans to Tokyo but worry about the fukushima radiation situation there.

More so after reading article on 'Fukushima Radiation to Reach Highest Levels By End of 2015'

                http://www.natureworldnews.com/articles ... f-2015.htm

                Anyone having same issue?

My cousin spent some months in a Tokyo last year. After he came back, he went for his medical checkup and said that it wasn't too gd. Something about liver function. After a few months, he repeated his test, and seems to be back to normal. The doctor cannot explain what happened or the cause. He told me this when he found out I was taking the family to central Japan and Tokyo for a vacation. Did I go for my vacation in the end? Yes we did and not only that, hubby and I made a second trip to south west japan in April this year during the sakura season. We just threw away all cautions as we thought our trips are short 2 weeks and 1 week respectively. Hehehe. I have not had any medical checkup since my trips so dunno if I am ok :xedfingers:

My Japanese colleagues from Tokyo say that they are still careful with their food and even now do not buy stuff from the north east, eg Fukushima area. And for them, definitely no-no to travel to that region.

Shd you still go? Well it is up to you. No one has the answer. It has to be a personal decision. No right or wrong. No one knows for certainty.

Thanks for the good sharing Dnls_mum.

Japan is a very lovely country and I will not hesitate to visit again if not for the radiation scare, especially when we are travelling with children.

I thought the leakage incident is somewhat subsided and was almost determined to visit again this year, but am taken aback after seeing this piece of news dated April 12, 2015:
\"Most of the inspected dolphins had lungs in ischaemia state as “entirely white”
                    http://fukushima-diary.com/2015/04/most ... ely-white/ :yikes: :?

There are many of these reports everywhere. For every such report, you probably can find another stating otherwise. What to believe?? We love Japan. After every trip, I'll be thinking of the next. 🙂

I really agree with Dnsl_mum and juz_mum. It's a judgement call we have to make for ourselves. There's simply no right or wrong...

With regards to hotels with easy access to Disneyland - a dad on my little travel website shared that he was really happy with staying at the Odaiba area - where madam Tussard and Legoland (small by all account) are. He stayed at Hotel Nikko, which is under the Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel program, so there's free shuttle to and from the hotel to Disneyland / DisneySea. Have at look at his account - http://kidsonboard.net/blog/photo-essay ... -in-odaiba.

                        Good night ladies.
