Anyone has the number of students of NJC for this cohort that received their A level results?


If they have same number like RJC and HCI (i.e. over 1000 students). Then, in term of percentage, DHS has done better. DHS is probably third in position after RI and HCI.

based on the data copied from DHS noticeboard, i calculated the cohort for 2009 A level pupils to be 290.

with 4 or more distinctions ---> 138 candidates-----> 47.6%

anyway, academic achievements is not the ONLY thing that we, parents, look for when selecting a suitable school for our kids,

there are still other factors,
character molding is of importance too........(i don't mean other schools have \"no character molding\" ok........don't hammer me)

Totally agree with Augmum (no, I'm not gonna hammer u, dont worry) . As parents, we all try to look for a good balance for our children. A bigger cohort also provides good networking & wider exposure for the kids too.

in an ideal world, where IP students are supposed to be better than normal O-level students, dunman high should be able to beat both RI and HCI though.

:stupid: what went wrong?[/quote]Your assumption of HCI's number of students is wrong. HCI takes in 500 from HCI (high school) and 500 from Nanyang girls, and with an extra intake from outside, that makes the enrollment higher than 1000.

Yea, and extra note, HCI is highest in Science stream this year.

HCI has 50 scored 8 distinction out of 1100 students.
RI has 84 scored 8 distinction out of 1200+ students. (both according to their published news)

For your information, HCI’s mean university admission score is 85 out of the possible 90 points, which is among the highest in Singapore. There is no reason why we are afraid of releasing the data. We just want to observe the agreement we have with the other JCs’ Principals.

Today, our principal briefed us the “A” level results saying that the percentage
of candidates getting 7 > = Distinctions is comparable to NJC and VJC
I wonder why there is a need to compare Dunman High to HCI and RI,
It’s against different benchmark.

HCI and RI had the best of both worlds, they take in the crème of the crops from both PSLE and “O” level pupils, like that, how to compare?
