My girl answer is 1 too .

Thanks! Looks like 1 could be right.

My dd said she chose (2) as she interpreted the words \"bring along\" as they were. The ribbon was an item to be pinned to the sleeve and not to be \"brought along\".

He feels that EL & CL are very tricky, you really have to listen very carefully. For CL last question, his answer is 2 too. 😓

Hope to get some feedback on the last English LC which I felt was quite vague. The context of the passage was that the morale story was not to be greedy. It was about a girl who found a flute. When she blew it for the 1st time, she got some silver. When she blew it for the 2nd time, she got gold. She then decided to return to the police. The policeman transformed into a wizard and told her that luckily she did not blow it for the 3rd time cos' her clothes will turn to rags and all her money in the house would be gone. He said because of her wise choice, she will find happiness thereafter.

The question was what was the moral of the story. Answer choices were :
                (a) wisdom of xxx (can't recall exactly on this choice)
                (b) honesty is the best policy
(c)gold and silver cannot buy happiness

Many students choice (b) and some (c) from the network that I got the feedback from. (b) because the story centres around this girl who finally decided to return the flute which could have given her a lot of treasures. (c) is also possible because if the girl was honest, she would have returned the flute the moment she found it and she should not only return just the flute but also the silver and gold. She understands that gold and silver are just material things but good virtues such as being not greedy will really be what makes a person happy.

I feel both answers are of correct depending on the the perspective we look at it.What's your take?
My ds' answer is 2 - honesty

Is this the CL last question ? I think 勤劳 sounds more logical but DS2 put 种花. :faint:

Any feedback on the last English LC question. The question in gist was that the morale of the story was not to be greedy. A girl found a flute. When she blew it, she got some silver. She blew it a second time, she got some gold. She decided to return the flute and went to the police station. The policeman transformed into a wizard and told her luckily, she did not blow the flute for the 3rd time, else her clothes will turn into rags and all her money in the house will be gone. The wizard ended by telling her because of her wise choice, happiness will follow thereafter.

The answer chosen were mainly (b) honesty is the main policy while some chose © gold and silver cannot buy happiness.

Rationale for (b) - in returning the flute, the girl has saved herself from misfortunes.

Rationale © - the girl only returned the flute but not the silver and gold. She did not continue to try to blow the flute to get more gold or silver but she understood that happiness is not in getting more gold or silver but to live an upright live with good values such not being greedy.

To me, both answers are correct except which angle we are looking at. Question seems ambiguous.

                      Thanks
