I think should be \"With\" right ? DS said idiom or collocation. I dun really know what it means :scratchhead:

The answers are just too close. Hr practitioners use the word. \"Elevate\" morale quite frequently too

What about Question 10 Paper 2 (grammar section)? DS cant remember it, but some of his classmates chose Option 1 (is) while others chose Option 3 (was). The question was: \"Grandparents' habit ___ ...... [ds couldnt remember]\".

DD's answer : was
The clue is habit and not grandparents.
At first, she put it as 'is' ... till she saw the word 'became' which is a past tense.

DS2 answer is \"was\" too.

Daughter answered With. I would go with that too but some kids in her class answered After.

First my son wrote their :roll: , then he changed to after, then he changed to with. :scratchhead:

The std for this year's EL on the whole seemed to have bee raised - LC very tricky, Paper 1 very tough in my opinion and Paper 2 though DD says easy as the questions unfold, they are also very tricky - choices of answers are so close and really needs some deep thinking. Looks like EL will be one of the major T-score tipper!!!

My sentiments too. All papers seem easy at first glance but in actual fact, very tricky.

Mine too. The paper seems difficult. For the compo, DS only managed to write 2.5pg and his handwriting is huge. :nailbite:

First question DS2 asked me was \"if you were me, what will you write for the compo ?\" I was errrr.... :oops:

The debate on British vs American for PSLE English....


Coincidentally, I came across this from Tao Nan's website yesterday. Check out their 2014 P6 EL Curriculum Briefing

In the slide, it advocated British spelling and pronunciation. And specifically crossed-out the word American. I guess the message is clear. Hope this helps.
