A square is both a rectangle and a rhombus, which means that the properties of parallelograms, rectangles, and rhombuses all apply to squares.

Based on th above definition of a square, it looks like the answers for parallelogram, rhombus and trapezium are the same, I.e. 1 + 1.

Squares are rectangles and rhombuses , but rectangles aren't squares nor rhombuses. The two right-angled triangles in this question don't form a square, but forms a rectangle.

I was told that it is an isosceles right angle triangle. If it is just a right angle triangle, I will agree with u that 2 of these can only form a rectangle. The kid that told me this may be mistaken. Without seeing the actual qn, I can't validate. Ok. Let's move on. Tq for clarification on yr pt.

quote=\"fairy_tail\"]quote=\"sha\"]Hi parents

My DS said there was a question asking students to draw a parallelogram, trapezium and rhombus with a given triangle.

For the parallelogram and trapezium, how many more triangles must be drawn respectively.

Please help

I'm not so sure

Parallelogram: 8 (inclusive of the one provided)
Rhombus: 4
Trapezium: 3 (including)

Correct ? šŸ˜“ :nailbite:
a can use square as rhombus ? Then 1+1.
Acceptable ? :scratchhead:
Can't be. Trapezium has only one set of parallel lines while the others have 2 pairs.

Mine is
Parallelogram 1+1
Rhombus 3+1
Trapezium 2+1

Correct ? šŸ˜“ :nailbite:
Correct. As they asked for least number of triangles.
Hi! I didn't take the PSLE but from what I see, shouldn't it be
Parallelogram 1+1 (put a triangle together with an inverted one)
Rhombus 1+1 (Put one like a arrow pointing to the sky and one pointing to the gound)
Trapezium 1+2

There are tiles for them to draw the triangles, so they can't just draw one pointing to the sky.

Manageable but tricky. Easy to make careless mistakes.

Most in dd class feel is easy. I reckon a 91 raw score may not guarantee an A*.
