Long story short, this maid was very hard to please, show black face and I was so stressed during my 3rd pregnancy that I hid in my room so I don't have to deal with her.
oh my goodness, you had to hide in the room to escape the maid...I avoided my maids so that I don't have to see them.
maids LOVE to show black face...but I've learnt NOT to see and that makes them MORE upset. so they do other stuff to let you know they are unhappy. my last Filipino made me so pissed I decided not to have anymore maids.

My first maid ex UAE, can clean and speak perfect English, taught her how to cook and even gave her 2 off days as soon as she arrived in SG, gave her salary even though still paying off loan, gave bonus for good work after 2 month. Then hubbie and I went holiday for 4 days leaving 2 old kids with her ( both sec) then!!! Got internatinal call from DD saying maid is LOST?

Finally they find her chit chatting to another maid and want to bring big box of stuff to our house?! I told my daughter no ! Don't let her.
Anyway after I rtn she mumble excuse.... I let go
Then 2 weeks later want to talk abt contract not right ? Have to be paid USD450
some maid sue employer, agent etc etc... I panicked and call agent..
Long story short, this maid was very hard to please, show black face and I was so stressed during my 3rd pregnancy that I hid in my room so I don't have to deal with her.
Oh, she broke so many expensive plates bought in Europe and wedding present..
I went and bought IKEA set!
Now she is gone and I have less competent helper but she at least is less demanding.

I rather have a less competent helper than a demanding helper .

          Hi carol,

I’ve always been a SAHM. Kids are 10 and 14 now.
When I sent off the last maid, kids were 4 and 8.
My priority is kids’ safety…closed both eyes when I had a maid then.
As long as house is presentable, hygiene is maintained, food on the table, I don’t demand too much. I had to coach son in his school work.
When I decided to do away with the last maid, it was with determination not to get another one. Hubby chipped in to help…ate at mum’s place. Housework wise, do what I can.

            Hi janet,

My maid have 4 years experience in Singapore and she have work for me 5 months. She can't take care kids so my mum told her that she'll look after and she focus on house cleaning and cooking. The problem is, she can't cook and not clean/hygiene. E.g. when my baby keep touch on her breast she didn't stop him, I did tell her that she must tell my DS not to do it again but she didn't, just ignore what I said. my baby call her mummy she also didn't correct him. take washing clothes pail to wash car, somemore didn't ask me until i found out myself. Toilet hand towel drop on the floor, don't pick it up until my mum notice it. Her mouth tooth paste drip on the floor also ignore.............etc. How to tolerate for another 1.5 years.

Wow, she sound like my ex maid ( employed only for baby care) but can't handle baby, can't clean...she stayed with me for 1.5 month but felt like an eternity.
I Asked another maid to come in and train her about 4-5 times then her cleaning was ok... But can't do baby care so ultimately transferred her out.
It must be difficult for you....

when my younger daughter was a baby, hygiene is first priority.

her face towel and bath towels cannot mix with other cloths.
I can close my eyes when maids break a plate or whatever, but I will not compromise on kids’ safety.

my house wasn’t perfectly clean then, but that’s ok. but don’t let me catch her mixing face towel with floor rug.

I have 2 maid as I have health issue now and hubby so busy can not help at all, myanmar was nanny and Fillippina maid ( worked in korean restaurant before) does cooking and house chores.

Now Myanmar maid stuck going hungry with porridge everyday!
                :rotflmao:

Aiyo ! Think the Myanmar maid better work in Myanmar sicnr she prefers walking around no shoes and kids dirty . If we are fine with these , did she ever think why we need maid ?

Myanmar maids, if they don’t want to learn English, it is impossible to communicate with them. I am so glad the days of having a maid is over…my hair just stands when I recall my ex maids.

I wish I can get rid of maids… Only put up because baby is still little.

I didn’t need maid with 2 older ones, did all myself before.
Only now need 2…having last baby seriously damaged my body…
@ panicky mum, yes. I told my Filippina maid we are paying high salary so need to look after baby well, who will pay to keep kids and house in filthy state.
I have seen maids use a kitchen towel to wipe their hands and dry dishes with a same cloth! I worry salmonella and other nasties so I get maid to use diluted Dettol to wipe and wash knives/chopping board after cutting chicken/pork.
Now asked to soak kitchen towel in dettol and hand wash it as raw blood or germs get on it when they wipe their hands in between.
Sound serious but I don’t like running to toilet every minute because of food poisoning.lol

With maids, you have to do right things and no short cuts…or they will follow. When my daughter was a baby, I made sure she bathed before she carried her and washed her hands before feeding or touching her bottle.

Food handling is very important. When they screw up, we will have food poisoning. I always told my maids not to waste water because it is very expensive here in Singapore.
