err... do we have to be physically around for the S1 posting results on Fri 19 Dec? I mean for the non-DSA students? We are planning for a trip around first 1-2 weeks of Dec, but may only come back around 19-20 Dec (still waiting for confirmation). I heard that the S1 posting results will be sent via SMS? Or do the children need to go back to their primary school to receive the posting results? :scratchhead:

And they need to report to their posted school on 22 Dec (Monday) right? In their primary school uniform...?

Sorry... first kid sitting PSLE.... šŸ˜‰

mine also first kid, so need to hear from more experience parents here (like our helpful janet)...... but i should be around during that period....

I was very kiasi and didn't go anywhere. Was worried that DD would do badly and had to go to school of choice to appeal.
oh if hv gd tutor must pm me

          I stil hv p3 n p1

having gone thru 1 round of PSLE, i'm sure u are more experience now....

I believe the best tutor is still parents(mommies in most cases)...
to me, it's also depends on whether the parents know the PSLE stuff otherwise it will be the blind leading the blind and also how cooperative the child can be with the parents or else it will end up more like a scolding session instead of an effective coaching lesson.....

yes, i read in other threads that parents can teach their kids themselves which i really :salute: :udawoman: :udaman: them.... these parents must have master the PSLE stuff and able to convey to their kids who are willing to listen to their parents.....

me also but from my brothers experience, is ok. results for posting will be via SMS. Not to go back to pri school for receiving.
important is to be back by 21.12.14 for 22 reporting in sec school.

Based on last year's impression, on S1 posting date, parents will receive a SMS on where the child is posted to. BTW, one of dd's classmate's mum didn't get the sms and I think she had to check the posting online. So long as you can receive/ check this information it's fine.

I am however unsure in the event of appeal, when will that action start as my dd dsa.

Personally thought it's good to be around for school reporting day. They are required to bring some documents for registration (sorry I forgot the details), do some admin stuff and briefing on what to bring/ expect for 1st few days of school. The booklist will be distributed. Most will also purchase the books and uniform on this day but parents are free to purchase the books at other available slots as well.

For 1st timer, you need to prepare at least $600 cash on this day if you are buying the books and uniform. Got a shock of my life when I realised I didn't have enough cash as I didn't expect it to cost so much. Had to SOS and call dh to come to the books queue... We had originally split up to speed up. Discussing with dd's classmates' parents, realised the price range is like the norm.

With 2 in Sec school and 1 in primary.... probably more. Though someone \"consolated\" me last year that uniform is like a \"one time\" cost. It will probably last them for the next 4 years (for girls). For boys, we need to get the long pants when they are in Sec3.

Eye opener indeed. Sec 1 text books for $600 …

Is there Nets available in the bookstore?
